Through the enhancement and interconnection of natural and semi-natural features like pools, orchards, grasslands, and watercourses—collectively termed green/blue infrastructure—an ecological framework is woven across built-up environments.

- In Lüleburgaz, the project will establish the city's first rain garden park. In Varna, the green areas within the university campus will benefit from rainwater irrigation, serving both students and the local community. In Alexandroupolis, a target green area accessible to visitors and tourists will be developed, promoting sustainable urban living and water efficiency again benefiting from the collected rainwater for its irrigation. These initiatives align with the European Bauhaus principles by integrating sustainability, inclusivity, and aesthetic value, thereby contributing to a more resilient and harmonious urban environment. (EN), Water Efficiency Campaign in Türkiye: The Water Efficiency Campaign is a National initiative launched to increase awareness about the conservation of water resources, sustainable water management, and water saving in Türkiye. The Campaign targeting several sectors, such as Urban Water Efficiency, Agricultural Water Efficiency, Industrial and Individual Water Efficiency. (EN) | The current project will be fully in synergy with the measures and recommendations, including national strategic goals and regulations determined under the Water Efficiency Campaign in Türkiye. In the scope of the current project the rain park will be developed as a pilot nature-based solution for the water efficiency. According to the recommendations of the Campaign, the park will be drought-resistant landscapes nature park, reducing the need of water with more than 50%. (EN), Project Green Urban Resilience funded by the 1st call of the BSB Programme 2021-2027 - the aim of the projetc is to be established climate change resilience cities in the Black Sea Basin, especially by analysing the heat-stress in the target cities and providing guidance for the nature-based solutions, that will lead to the climate change adaptation and prevention of the heatwaves in the cities. (EN) | The current project will work in synergy with the Green Urban Resilience project, that have two Turkish partners - Uzunkpru Municipality /located near to Luleburgaz/ and Istanbul University from Türkiye and Batumi Municipality from Georgia. All three partners, especially the academic partner - Istanbul University will provide guidance and methodology knowledge to the other partners in their work for mitigation of the heat-stress in their cities. Detailed plans will be prepared for the heat-islands in the target cities, including Batumi. All achieved information, analyses and research and planning deliverables will be shared with the current project in the Round table event organized in Lüleburgaz, during the activity work on the elaboration of Methodology for Sustainable Water resilience and Green Urban Spaces planning guide that will be prepared for the three target cities: Luleburgaz, Batumi and Alexandroupolis. (EN), Project NATURVATION funded by the HORIZON 2020: NATure-based URban innoVATION is a 4-year project, funded by the European Commission and involving 14 institutions across Europe in the fields of urban development, geography, innovation studies and economics. Led be Harriet Bulkeley, Durham University, it sought to develop our understanding of what nature-based solutions can achieve in cities, examine how innovation can be fostered in this domain, and contribute to realising the potential of nature-based solutions for responding to urban sustainability challenges by working with communities and stakeholders. (EN) | The current project will promote the Nature- Based Solutions for the climate resilience of the Black Sea Cities and benefitting from the expertise achieved under the NATURVATION project will realize comprehensive capacity building, sustainable planning and community engagement actions. There investments in nature-based solutions will be done and promoted actively at the Urban Nature Atlas /https://una.city// prepared by the NATURVATION project. The Atlas is a tool for inspiring about the nature -based solutions from European cities and beyond. The current project will be also promoted under the web tools of the NATURVATION project and representatives of the member cities of the project NATURVATION, such as Athens and Sofia will be invited to take a part in the 'Green Solutions for Blue Resilience' in Alexandroupolis, Greece and Engagement forum that will be organized in Batumi, Georgia at the end of the current project, to present their good practices and work on the (EN)
