Description (EN):

The fortified sites of Kent, Nord - Pas de Calais and West Flanders are a globally important set of historic monuments. While reflecting past divisions, they nevertheless represent a common European heritage, reflecting similar historical responses to similar historical processes. The Historic Fortifications Network, a dynamic partnership of towns and organisations who manage and promote these sites, is working to develop them as a tourism and educational resource for visitors and school-children, helping to bring these dramatic monuments, and the Europe that gave rise to them, to life.
