Description (EN):

The Latvian and Belarusian regions used to belong to the same political formations in the past. This common history unrevealed and unexplained often results in mutual mistrust and can lead to potential conflicts. The project partners apply innovative methods of the history science in order to analyse common historic past of the Latvian and Belarusian cross-border regions. The project aims at raising the public awareness related to protection of joint cultural and historical heritage in cross-border area of Latvia and Belarus.

Achievements (EN):

The project aimed at raising the public awareness related to protection of joint cultural and historical heritage in cross-border area of Latvia and Belarus. The partners conducted “story tellers method” research, interviewing over 200 inhabitants of border regions of Latvia and Belarus. The research findings were summarised and published in a book and CD. A number of international scientific conferences were organised in both countries.

Expected Results (EN): The partners will conduct the “oral method” research, interviewing over 200 inhabitants of Latvia and Belarus. This will lead to launching of the “E-Museum of Oral History”, accessible to all users of the internet.
