Creating a support for the sustainable development of cross–border area Giurgiu-Ruse and increasing the comparative benefits and reducing the disadvantages by promotion of the obtaining and using of biofuels; promotion of the innovation and technology transfer by strengthening the relations between research and SME; stimulating interregional cooperation in order to obtain biofuels to increase social stability and economic development in the region

Achievements (EN):

Project “Biofuels – source of common sustainable development in the cross-border area” (MIS-ETC code 146, with a total eligible value of 961,233 Euro) contributed to the innovative development of cross-border area Giurgiu-Ruse by promoting the use of biofuel and by increasing the number of people who benefited from information activities on environmental protection. The project realized: studies on technologies for producing biofuels plant material and demonstrations of technologies, an internet portal, courses, seminars, workshops, which were addressed to a wide audience and to gradual levels of knowledge (farmers, civil servants, businessmen, students, teachers, researchers).
