Main objective : The DEEDS project (Dieppe-Sussex Trade Development) is based on the results of a Dieppe Chamber of Commerce study conducted in 2009 amongst Dieppe businesses. This survey emphasizes these companies’ high expectations to get to know the UK market and to consider the possible development of their business across the Channel. The DEEDS project thus offers to address this need for support by promoting cross-border cooperation between businesses in Sussex and Dieppe. The project aims to stimulate economic development by encouraging cross-border cooperation between companies from both regions to enable them to expand their respective market and to collaborate in areas such as: subcontracting, co-contracting, research or innovation. The project will lead to a controlled and balanced cross-border economic development, which will not rely exclusively on independent businesses but on a whole industry, activity sectors and business networks. Main actions : - Mutual learning of the region’s economy and identification of potential partners: creation of a cross-border businesses and networks directory, realisation of a study led by an international trade consultant and of 5 operational exploration plans developed by partners. - Organisation of 2 awareness seminars in both regions and of 5 joint training workshops targeting French and British businesses willing to discover cross-border markets. - Organisation of 2 business meetings in both regions for about 40 companies (20 French and 20 British). - Sustainability of the collaborative approach: implementation and animation of a cross-border cluster and a collaborative tool (website, digital platform etc.)

Objectif général : Le projet D.E.E.D.S (Développement des Echanges Economiques Dieppe-Sussex ) repose sur les résultats d’une étude menée par la CCI de Dieppe en 2009 auprès d’entreprises de la région Dieppoise mettant en évidence des attentes importantes des entreprises pour connaître le marché britannique et étudier un éventuel développement de leur activité Outre-manche. Le projet D.E.E.D.S propose ainsi de répondre à ce besoin d’accompagnement en favorisant la coopération transfrontalière entre les entreprises des régions dieppoise et du Sussex. Le projet vise à stimuler le développement économique en favorisant les coopérations transfrontalières entre les entreprises des deux régions pour leur permettre d'élargir leurs marchés respectifs et de collaborer dans les domaines tels que : la sous-traitance, la co-traitance, la recherche et l'innovation. Le projet permettra de parvenir à un développement économique transfrontalier maîtrisé, cohérent et équilibré, qui s'appuiera non pas sur les seules logiques individuelles d'entreprises, mais sur des filières, des secteurs d'activités et des réseaux d'entreprises. Principales actions : - Apprentissage mutuel des tissus économiques et identification des potentiels collaboratifs : réalisation d’un annuaire transfrontalier présentant les entreprises et leurs réseaux, la réalisation d’une étude dirigée par un consultant en commerce international et de cinq plans de prospection opérationnels élaborés par les partenaires. - Organisation de deux séminaires de sensibilisation dans chacune des deux régions et organisation de cinq ateliers de formation conjoints aux marchés transfrontaliers à l’attention des entreprises cibles françaises et britanniques. - Organisation de deux rencontres d’affaires dans chaque région pour environ 40 entreprises (20 françaises et 20 britanniques). - Pérennisation de la démarche collaborative : constitution et animation d’un cluster transfrontalier et d’un outil collaboratif (site, plate-forme, etc.)

Achievements (EN):

Interreg France (Channel) – England projects lead to job creation, no matter what their sphere of activity is. Some of the projects have really managed to boost job creation within the Channel area. The DEEDS project has sped up the development of economic exchanges between businesses in the Dieppe area and in Sussex. The partnership carried out market research in key sectors (logistics, naval, environment, food industry andaerospace), and provided training and awareness raising courses to businesses, such as seminars, legal and cultural training, and also cross-border business meetings.
