Negli ultimi anni sono stati acquisiti in Italia e Svizzera dati di elevazione del terreno con tecnologie e accuratezze diverse. Scopo del progetto e la creazione di un modello digitale del terreno (DTM) correttamente georeferenziato, multirisoluzione e che integri, previa validazione, tutte le informazioni disponibili, per la fascia alpina e subalpina, tra Italia (Piemonte, Lombardia) e Svizzera (Cantoni Ticino, Grigioni e Vallese). Elementi basilari sono la stima dei parametri della trasformazione tra i sistemi di riferimento nazionali conforme alle accuratezze dei modelli del terreno originari, il calcolo di un modello unico di geoide supportato anche dai dati della missione GOCE dell'Agenzia Spaziale Europea, la sperimentazione di un servizio transfrontaliero di posizionamento satellitare (es: GPS) in tempo reale basato sulle diverse reti di stazioni permanenti esistenti.

Description (EN):

In the last few years have been acquired in Italy and Switzerland, the land elevation data with technologies and various inaccuracies. The project aims at creating a digital terrain model (DTM) correctly geo-referenced, multi-resolution, incorporating prior validation, all the information available for the alpine and subalpine, including Italy (Piedmont, Lombardy) and Switzerland (cantons Ticino, Graubünden and Valais). Basic elements are the estimated parameters of the transformation between reference systems national models in accordance with the accuracies of the original soil, the calculation of a model Unique geoid also supported by data from European Space Agency's GOCE mission, the testing of a cross-border service of satellite positioning (eg GPS) time based on the actual number of existing networks of permanent stations.
