Description (EN):

Different musical styles can be distinguished in today’s music ranging from jazz to rock, over hip-hop and traditional music. It offers great potential to transcend borders and audiences. But musicians often lack adequate upport and are often not known by the general public. Through this project, the partners promote contemporary music, encourage exchanges between artists and enable the public to circulate more easily within the cross-border rea. They offer professional support to musicians and the contemporary music sector and introduce them to the technologies. Finally, the partners pay special attention to communication to promote the artists.

Achievements (EN):

The 4x4 network has become a concept in the cross-border music world. By cooperating with other cross-border networks, such as Vis-à-vis, young artists find their way more easily across the border. In addition, young people from the border area were encouraged to “experience” music across the border by the introduction of a cross-border season ticket for the 4 participating concert halls, the organisation of shuttles to concerts across the border and the exchange of volunteers between the concert halls. In 2012, an English partner joined the network.
