Description (EN):

The general objective of the project was to increase regional labour force employability, with an emphasis on crafting and skill-shortage professions, and improve cooperation between education and industry. The first part of this objective was achieved through educating craftsmen and their employees, whereas the second was reached by addressing primary and secondary schools and promoting crafting professions among their pupils. Crossborder aspects: the project activities helped establish cross-border cooperation and, through workshops and courses, meet the ever demanding needs of the economy. The two sides shared good practices and raised public awareness about the importance of preserving crafting professions.

Achievements (EN):

There have been 23 meetings of the project group and 6 of the project council. The project activities required the purchase of computer equipment, a video conferencing system and software. The 24 special training and 7 general training courses included around 400 participants. The project also consisted of promotion in primary schools of both countries, 9 craft workshops including more than 80 participants, two best product competitions in secondary schools and four promotional activities in secondary education institutions. Other results: a new website, two project publications and printed materials, two press conferences and promotion at the trade fairs of Zagreb and Celje. Cross-border aspects: establishing and strengthening cooperation between craftsmen and businessmen from both sides of the border, exchange of good practices, cooperation in education, joint promotion at fairs, new agreements on project follow-up and on new possibilities for cooperation.
