Description (EN):

The project is addressed to detailed studying of historical, cultural and anthropogenic sources and establishment of database of cultural sites with tourist potential. It studies the current situation of cultural and historic sites and supports the beneficiaries with the development at two models (one for each municipality) for management of the most important cultural sites in a sustainable manner (including improvement of the tourist infrastructure of the selected tourism sites). Based on the studied resources the project partners developed joint cultural tourism route and proposes an integrated tourism product for the municipalities of Strumyani and Karbinci. The tourism product was promoted to the general public across the border. The project raises the capacity of the local communities in the tourism sector and in applying of models for preservation of the heritage and it transformation into tourist sites.
