Description (EN):

Aim: The project comprises the construction of a 65.620 km stretch of a new dual carriageway motorway from the road junction “Plodovitovo” at km 5.000 to Harmanli at km 70.620, completing the missing part of the Maritsa Motorway. Lot 1 „Orizovo – Dimitrovgrad” section is with a length of 31,4 km and passes through the territory of 4 municipalities: Bratya Daskalovi, Parvomay, Chirpan and Dimitrovgrad. It is foreseen the construction of 22 large structures. Rescue archeological investigations of two sites are being conducted along the route at the moment. Lot 2 „Dimitrovgrad – Harmanli“ section of Maritsa motorway is with a length of 34,2 km and passes through the territory of the municipalities of Dimitrovgrad, Simeonovgrad, Haskovo and Harmanli. It includes road junction Dimitrovgrad which is under construction and will be the largest one on the territory of Southern Bulgaria. With its completion the intersection of the motorway with international road Е-85 (І-5) Dimitrovgrad – Haskovo will be performed at two levels in a conflict-free manner.

Achievements (EN):

Lot 1 Orizovo – Dimitrovgrad of Maritsa motorway is opened for traffic end of October 2015. The overall construction of the motorway was completed– from its connection with Trakia motorway to the border control checkpoint Kapitan Andreevo at the Bulgarian-Turkish border, with the building of the 31,4-kilometer section. Lot 2 of Bulgaria’s Maritsa motorway has be completed by end-May 2015.
