Description (EN):

Project starts from the main challenge of unused crowdfunding (CF) potential, especially in the eastern part of CE countries. The project's main objective is to improve skills and competences of all 4 relevant stakeholder groups to prepare them for taking advantage of crowdfunding phenomena. Change will be visible in improved financial conditions for start-ups fostering innovation, employment and social stability in the region. Focus will be on economically weaker businessess with fewer opportunities, who do not have access to bank loans, but with use CF would be able to start business ideas. CF also minimizes business risk-taking and increases entrepreneurship mind-set. Outputs and results of the project are closely connected with beneficiaries: -Crowdfunding platform operators: increased institutional competences with providing minimum platform standards, minimizing cross-border barriers for CF, raising professional competences with exchange of experiences; -SMEs and start ups: increased competences for CF fundraising with trainings, guidelines, advising, pre-funding check and supporting CF campaigns; -Citizens (CF investors): increased safety by better understanding of benefits and risks; -Policy makers: increased decision making competences: regional action plans for CF support, proposals for legislation improvements, contribution from CE to EU level. Project is innovative in its approach of balanced raising CF capacities of all 4 relevant stakeholder groups by knowledge sharing and learning from the most advanced. Based on raised capacities the innovation system will have better foundation for development. Crowdfunding is global phenomena, therefore it cannot be properly addressed on national level. Other reason for transnational approach is opportunity for knowledge transfer along east-west divide.

Achievements (EN):

Project CROWD-FUND-PORT implemented in the 2016-2019, was focused on improving skills and competences of all relevant crowdfunding stakeholder groups to prepare them for taking advantage of the crowdfunding phenomena. Since the beginning of the project, our partnership was aware that crowdfunding is a global phenomenon and that its use could bring important benefits to key project stakeholder groups (SMEs, crowdfunding platform operators, investors, citizens) in CE regions. In order to use all crowdfunding potentials, we needed to address three specific CE challenges: lack of skills and competences of stakeholders, disparities in development of financial markets between CE countries and lack of research about existing situation. Mentioned challenges were approached with set-up of common CE crowdfunding learning space, preparation of common training materials based on good practices and practical experiences, preparation of different research analysis and guides for specific stakeholder groups. All these commonly developed outputs presented quality information and knowledge base for implementation of regional activities. Establishment and operation of national crowdfunding hubs enabled that in each partner country, a network of experts and institutions were identified and could be joined in a long-term cooperation, through implementation of local project activities.

Expected Results (EN): R 1.2 Status of capacities of the public and private sector for skills development of employees and entrepreneurial competences achieved through transnational cooperation driving economic and social innovation in central European regions.

Expected Outputs (EN):

Programme result indicator. Project is using transnational cooperation for raising crowdfunding capacities of the public and private sector. Raised capacities will improve economic and social innovation in CE regions as well as increase financial capacities for SMEs and start-ups. Project contributes to programme result indicator with improvement of skills and competences of all 4 relevant stakeholder groups to increase quality and quantity of crowdfunding in Central Europe. Specific results according to target groups: 1.SMEs and start-ups. Results: increased skills, capacities and competences for better use of crowdfunding funds. Better use of crowdfunding will lead to higher number of innovative products leading to better success of SMEs and gradual increase of employment. 2.Crowd-funding platforms: Results: Improved quality of services, higher professional and managerial standards, higher ethical standards, higher visibility and acknowledgement. 3.Citizens, small-scale investors. Results: improved knowledge, creativity and entrepreneurial mind-set (many of them will be encouraged to start their own idea), higher safety, supported social innovation 4.Decision makers, politicians (EU, national, regional, local). Result: increased awareness of CF potential, increased awareness about cross-border obstacles to CF, possibility to improve innovative policies considering action plans, ability to accept better solutions due to constant bottom-up communication.
