The project area is a provincial border region of South Burgenland (Austria) and Pomurje (Slovenia), characterized by sustainable tourism. Both regions are part of a cross border nature preserve area and belong to the Goričko-Raab-Őrség, 3-eu Park. Due to a weak inclusion of cultural heritage in touristic offers in this region as well as faint familiarity of potential partners on both sides of the border, the long common history has not been highlighted for touristic purposes in the past. The overall objective of the project is to create a sustainable cultural-touristic destination, based on developing the message of cultural heritage and introducing the cultural-touristic products. These products, shaped together by experts from touristic enterprises, will contribute to an improved offer in the weakly visited periods of low-peak seasons. They will attract new target visitor groups and assist in lengthening their stay in the region. All the above will be achieved through these efforts : historical exhibitions in all 3 castles, connective historical family tour, establishing of joint traditional trade markets, handicraft workshops and arrangements with artists/arts of the region, including photographic competition and film workshop. The upgrades to infrastructure in project locations like castle Grad and castle Murska Sobota are essential components needed to guarantee the joint touristic products. 3 castles, 2 countries, 1 history is a symbol, showing how to deliver a successful project realization. Once connected, it is possible with joint efforts to make the region competitive as a cultural-touristic destination . Main target groups are visitors of all ages, interested in culture, tradition and history, constantly linked with experiencing the unspoiled natural environment.

Das Projektgebiet liegt im ländlich dominierten Raum im Grenzgebiet des Südburgenlandes (Österreich) und der Region Pomurje (Slowenien) und ist geprägt durch sanften Tourismus. Beide Regionen fallen in das grenzüberschreitende Naturschutzgebiet des Dreiländer Naturparkes Goričko-Raab-Őrség. Aufgrund der bis dato schwachen Verankerung von Kulturerbe im Tourismus der Region und des niedriges Wissens über potentielle Partner über die Grenzen hinweg wurde die lange gemeinsame Geschichte noch nicht aufgearbeitet und touristisch genutzt. Das übergeordnete Ziel des Projektes ist die Schaffung einer nachhaltigen Kulturtourismusdestination, die auf der Erschließung des Kulturerbes mittels der Etablierung von neuen kulturtouristischen Produkten beruht. Die mit Touristikern zeitlich abgestimmten neuen Produkte tragen wesentlich zur Verbesserung des Angebots in schwach frequentierten Zeiten außerhalb der Hauptsaison bei, sollen neue Gästeschichten gewinnen und die Aufenthaltsdauer der Gäste in der Region verlängern. Dies soll durch folgende Hauptoutputs erreicht werden: Historische Ausstellung auf allen 3 Schlössern, verbindende historische Family-Tour, Umsetzung von gemeinsamen Traditionsmärkten, Kunsthandworkshops und Veranstaltungen mit Künstlern/Kunst der Region samt Fotografiewettbewerb und Filmworkshop. Die Infrastrukturverbesserung der Projektstandorte Schloss Grad und Schloss Murska Sobota garantiert die Umsetzbarkeit der gemeinsamen touristischen Produkte. 3 Schlösser 2 Länder 1 Geschichte ist Sinnbild für die Herangehensweise zur erfolgreichen Umsetzung. Nur durch eine gemeinsame Aufarbeitung und professionelle Vermarktung der kulturellen Ressourcen ist es möglich, die in der Geschichte lange vereinte Projektregion kulturtouristisch wettbewerbsfähig zu machen. Hauptzielgruppe sind touristische Gäste aller Altersstufen mit Interesse an Kultur, Brauchtum und Historie in steter Verbindung mit intaktem Naturerlebnis.

Projektno območje leži v podeželskem mejnem okolju Južne Gradiščanske (Avstrija) in Pomurske regije (Slovenija), ki ju odlikuje trajnostni turizem. Obe regiji sta del čezmejnega območja zavarovane narave in sta del Trideželnega parka Goričko-Raab-Őrség. Zaradi slabega vključevanja kulturne dediščine v turistično ponudbo regije ter slabega poznavanja potencialnih čezmejnih partnerjev, skupna zgodovina ni obdelana in uporabljena v turistične namene. Glavni cilj projekta je oblikovanje trajnostne kulturno turistične destinacije, ki bo temeljila na obdelavi kulturne dediščine s pomočjo vpeljevanja novih kulturno turističnih produktov. Novi produkti, oblikovani skupaj s strokovnjaki s področja turizma, bodo prispevali k izboljšanju ponudbe v času slabšega obiska izven glavne sezone, privabili nove ciljne skupine obiskovalcev in podaljšali dobo bivanja obiskovalcev v regiji. To bo doseženo z naslednjimi glavnimi rezultati: zgodovinska razstava na vseh treh gradovih, povezovalna zgodovinska družinska tura, izvedba skupnih rokodelskih sejmov, delavnice umetnostne in domače obrti, prireditve z umetniki/umetnostjo iz regije skozi fotografski natečaj in video delavnico. Izboljšana infrastruktura na gradu Grad in gradu Murska Sobota bo zagotovila izvajanje skupnih turističnih produktov. 3 gradovi, 2 deželi, 1 zgodba je simbol, ki nakazuje uspešno izvedbo projekta. Le skozi skupno in strokovno obdelavo zgodovinskih gradiv je mogoče skozi zgodovino že povezanemu projektnemu območju zagotoviti konkurenčnost na področju kulturnega turizma. Glavna ciljna skupina so obiskovalci območja, ki jih zanima kultura, običaji, zgodovina v povezavi z doživljanjem narave.

Das Projekt wird zwei Hauptresultate aufweisen. Hauptresultat 1: Zusätzliche Besucher in der Region aufgrund der neu etablierten kulturtouristischen Produkte. Es wird angenommen, dass ca. 5% aller Besucher der geplanten Veranstaltungen wie Ausstellungen, Traditionsmärkten, Workshops, Kulturveranstaltungen und der Schlossbesucher im Allgemeinen in der Region als Übernachtungsgäste verzeichnet werden können und somit direkt zum Programmspezifischen Resultat beitragen werden. Hierzu werden die Gäste der umgesetzten Veranstaltungen gezählt, um das Resultat sichtbar zu machen. Hauptresultat 2: Erhöhung der Übernachtungspackages mit touristischen Anbietern. Dadurch werden potentielle Gäste einen wesentlichen Anreiz haben, sich für den Urlaub in der Projektregion zu entscheiden. Da primär mehrtägige Packages entworfen werden führt dies direkt zu einer Steigerung der Anzahl der Übernachtungen. Es werden 25 % Prozent Steigerung der Packages angestrebt.

Expected Outputs (SL):

Projekt bo izkazal dva glavna rezultata. Glavni rezultat 1: dodatni obiskovalci na osnovi novih kulturno turističnih produktov. Predvideva se, da se bo 5% vseh obiskovalcev prireditev kot so razstave, rokodelski sejmi, delavnice, kulturni dogodki in obiskovalcev gradu odločilo za bivanje v regiji in tako prispevalo k specifičnemu rezultatu programa. Prišteti bodo obiskovalci izvedenih prireditev, da bo rezultat bolj jasen. Glavni rezultat 2 povečanje nočitvenih paketov s turističnimi ponudniki. Ti bodo potencialne goste nagovarjali, da se odločijo za počitnice v projektni regiji. Priprava večdnevnih paketov bo direktno prispevala k dvigu nočitev. Prizadevalo se bo za 25% povečanje paketov.
