Description (EN):

SYNERGY aims at strengthening currently underdeveloped linkages, cooperation and synergies between companies, industry, research, intermediaries and policy makers in central Europe. The project will analyse funded and finalised innovation projects and cluster institutions involved in projects into three key areas covering the most promising modern industrial technologies. These areas include additive manufacturing and 3D printing, micro- and nanotechnology-related processes and materials, as well as the industry 4.0 sector. Institutions and clusters included in each area will form ‘synergic networks’ based on a novel projects assessment methodology and a ‘synergic consortia matchmaking’ IT online tool. Moreover, the project will define new crowd innovation services and test them in different types of pilot actions. As a result, project activities will boost the creation of innovative services and facilitate transnational cooperation in the industrial sector. Information added on 2020-05-18, regarding the mitigation of the effects of COVID-19 (the coronavirus pandemic that started in 2019) (English language only): To encourage research on very concrete challenges posed by the Coronavirus crisis, SYNERGY launched a pilot voucher scheme making use of their Synergic Crowd Innovation Platform. Public and private organisations can look for matching solutions or competences from the research and industry communities. The best proposals will receive a voucher to pay for needed services, which could become the spark for greater innovations that help dealing with this pandemic.

Achievements (EN):

SYNERGY (“SYnergic Networking for innovativeness Enhancement of central european actoRs focused on hiGh-tech industrY”) aimed at strengthening underdeveloped linkages, cooperation and synergies between companies, industry, research, intermediaries and policy makers in Central Europe. The project analysed funded and finalized innovation projects and clustered institutions involved in projects into three Key Project Areas (KPAs) covering the most promising modern industrial technologies. These areas included Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing, Micro- and Nanotechnology-related Processes and Materials, as well as the Industry 4.0 sector. Institutions and clusters included in each area formed "Synergic Networks" based on a novel projects assessment methodology and a "Synergic Consortia matchmaking" IT online tool. Moreover, the project defined new crowd innovation services that are available on the SYNERGY Crowd Innovation Platform and tested them in different types of pilot actions. As a result, the project activities boosted the creation of innovative services and facilitated transnational collaboration and cooperation between Central European actors from the high-tech industry. The SYNERGY project started in August 2017 and ended in October 2020.

Expected Results (EN): R 1.1 Status of linkages among actors of the innovation systems achieved through transnational cooperation in central European regions.

Expected Outputs (EN):

Results of SYNERGY are: -Increased efficiency of international knowledge transfer in PPs regions and countries, esp. transfer of best practices -Increased awareness and skills of SYNERGY’s target groups in the fields of: innovation& IT tools, open & crowd-innovation, efficient business models, funding mechanisms, commercialization& technology transfer. This will be obtained due to project’s outputs and their dissemination incl.: Synergic Consortia, Synergic Networks, Strategy on Synergic Crowd Innovation Platform for policy makers, trainings. -Increased opportunities to deliver new innovative products and services through a new, open, efficient, innovation oriented environment and procedure that assures proof of concept and validation, access to crowd sources & marketing tool. Improvement of cooperation& linkages establishing process through new online, transnationally accessible IT tools. -Open access methodology of innovation actors networking. -Improved& enhanced networking& linkages among project actors-PPs’ regions, Projects’ target groups (SMEs, research organizations, industry, policy makers). -Sustainable innovation networks created in the high-tech fields (KPAs). -Benefits for policy makers in the scope of crowd-innovation issues and commercialization. -Project results are related to improvement of linkages between science, industry & policy makers & innovation transfer between these sectors & thus they are consistent with the programme result indicator.
