Description (EN):

EU Strategy for the Danube Region is characterized by a specific government and decision-making system, with the participation of variety of stakeholders. Priority Area 3 of the strategy covers the domains of Culture, Tourism and people to people contacts. It is jointly coordinated by the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism and the Romanian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administrations. Both PACs are supported in their coordination activities by the relevant administrative structures on Culture and Tourism in Bulgaria and Romania. The established government structure of PA3 includes the Steering Group (composed of experts from the 14 participating states and few relevant stakeholders), EC, Danube Strategy Point (DSP) and National coordinators. The implementation of PA3 Action Plan and achievement of the PA targets requires effective and sustainable coordination among stakeholders and decision-makers. Implementation of the project aims to provide support to PA3 coordinators targeting the enhanced coordination and facilitation the implementation of the PA3 targets. Two project partners (PP) who are also PA coordinators aligned their efforts on enhanced PA management and coordination through planning and organization of SG meetings (twice a year), organization and participation in different events, related to PA3. In order to make a step forward to achievement of PA targets, project will support elaboration of 5 studies on PA 3 targets, three of the topics being pre-defined in the project and another two will be decided by the SG. Organization of PA3 thematic events/conferences under the project will also contribute to achieving PA targets, through discussions, share of experience and involvement of relevant stakeholders. The events are also opportunities to communicate the results of the project.

Expected Results (EN): The status of management capacities of Priority Area Coordinators (PAC) to effectively implement EUSDR goals, targets and key action (survey composite indicator)

Expected Outputs (EN):

The project's main result is improved governance, coordination and implementation of EUSDR PA3. Governance, coordination and implementation framework of PA is characterized by a large number of decision-makers, stakeholders and levels of implementation. Project will support PACs in their coordination functions and the main achievements will be: • strengthened coordination and decision making mechanism of PA 3 through the organization of 6 SG meetings and 6 events/conferences • improved coordination with other PAs, decision-makers, stakeholders through organization and participation in different events/conferences • facilitated implementation of PA 3 targets through the elaboration of 5 studies/reports/policy papers and dedicated events/conferences • involvement of wide range of stakeholders (at local, regional, national and transnational level) in PA3 implementation through the organization of 6 events/conferences and communication and publicity measures. • work related to the organization and participation in SG meetings and EUSDR Annual Forums.
