Transnational challenges such as unemployment, brain-drain, etc. could be resolved only trough a transnational cooperation. The cross-sectoral approach combined with transnational cooperation is the key for new economic drivers, new business niches, value added chains. The preliminary analysis of the young unemployment rates in the countries involved showed a high percentage of unemployment rates. According to Eurostat for 2015 the rates of youth unemployment (15-24 age) as a percentage of the active population are: 21.5% in Bulgaria, 49.7% in Greece, 39% in Albania, in 52% in FYRoM. The overall picture remains problematic reflecting also the structural bottlenecks of the Balkan-Mediterranean labour market: early school leaving, lack of vocational education that attracts young people’s interest, few opportunities to combine work and study and the inability of the labour markets to create new and sustainable jobs even in periods of high seasonal growth. Impact on the high unemployment rates had also the economic crisis, yet it had not equally affected the participating countries. Albania, FYROM and Bulgaria had maintained a positive outlook, while Greece was profoundly affected by the crisis. As a result, overall economic activity shrunk and high unemployment rates drove people to risk of poverty, material deprivation and social exclusion. Moreover, unemployment and social exclusion are perceived as common threats in the countries involved. Equally important threat for the region is the migration of young and skilled people, resulting in diminishing the area’s growth perspectives and endogenous potential.TRANS-EDU-NET partners have spotted an opportunity for both enhancing entrepreneurial culture in the transnational region and employment creation (including self-employment), and further developing tourism opportunities by using the young people (16-30 age) as an engine for competitiveness of the entire region. Collaboration is an essential part for successfully addressing the above opportunity and project aims to achieve it by creating a transnational educational network for entrepreneurs. It will provide the opportunity for joint initiatives for professional trainings of young people in the tourism industry, combined with the implementation of a set of activities aiming to stimulate and accelerate the development of the sector using modern tools for education, increasing the quality of the provided services through trainings and competitions, Edu-camps, simulation business game, etc. The accessible online learning environment will foster VET entrepreneurial thinking of young people and will enhance their learning culture in the tourism thus stimulating the sustainable development and knowledge transfer for more competitive business environment in the region. Mentors from the business (SMEs representatives) will lead the young entrepreneurs.

Expected Results (EN):

TRANS-EDU-NET is expected to bring: Established tailor-made educational network between business entities, local authorities and education institutions to develop innovative learning tool and foster entrepreneurial learning for young people in the field of tourism related industries. The created network will further exist after the project end aiming to involve other stakeholders from educational and business environment thus contributing to more employment opportunities; public accessible. The project will build a strong bridge between education, business practice and the economic needs of the regions contributing to a more competitive and sustainable area. It will further support the exchange of knowledge and the creation of transnational joint entrepreneurial environment for young people encouraging the establishment of start-up companies, especially in the fields of tourism and new technologies. It will develop entrepreneurial skills and mindset of the participants, improving their opp. in the labour market and increasing their competitiveness. It will support the identification of opportunities for the development of Transnational Entr. Rooms, Edu-Network and Business Simulation Game between participants from the participating countries. Understanding the needs, the opp.&the high social impact of women entrepreneurship and leadership, the consortium partners envisage a dynamic participation of women in the project and set the objective that ar. 50% of the trainees will be young women. The project will result in increased transnational cooperation in the field of tourism and outlined youth employment opportunities through visits and participation in local Job fairs. TRANS-EDU-NET is expected to enhance the economic and cultural value of the experiences of young entrepreneurs. It will create awareness on local educational opportunities that will increase transnational economic activity, create new jobs and support fair competition. Results will be widely dissem.

Expected Outputs (EN):

Widely diss.POs: Transnational strategy for organization of trainings and curricula towards growth and employment of young people in the tourism. Joint road-map for the educational materials and features. Multil.online training manual for entrepr.education, training materials&knowledge transfer on entrepr.development and sessions for young people, incl. people with disabilities. 4 curriculum models in entrepreneurial learning: 1) transn.entrepreneurship, 2) sustainable entrepreneurship 3) entrepreneurship in tourism (incl. “green growth”) and related industries, 4) entrepreneurship in new technologies and related industries. Online educ. platform with interactive tools, with different tailor-made training modules-open to EB (OEB)–in 5 languages, up to 200 trained people. 1 Virtual and equipped 3 physical Entrepreneurial Rooms as a tool for transnational entrepreneurial mentoring containing video-interviews with business representatives from the tourism related industries (incl. eco mobility).This tailor-made learning scheme will enhance the competitiveness of SMEs in the tourism related industries. Virtual business companies – up to 12 (3 per country). OEB-Local stakeholders - VET schools, tourism organisations and local authorities may join as mentors and supervisors. 4 exhibition stands used at local Job fairs and exhibitions to widely promote employment opportunities. Multilingual educational business simulation game in the field of tourism and related industries, incl. an application . 3-day Transn.Start-up competition in Sofia – up to 80 participants in total - OEB. 4 knowledge transfer trainings in Thessaloniki, Sofia, Vlora and Kicevo aiming to strengthen and support youth employment across borders–up to 80 participants in total-OEB. 2 4-days transn.educational camps (Edu-Camp) 1 in Thessaloniki and 1 in Vlora – up to 80 participants in total-OEB. 4 Diss. workshops between SMEs and VET Schools in Vlora, Sofia, Thessaloniki and Kicevo-up to 60 participants-OEB.
