Description (EN):

Project HORIS will contribute to solving the problems and challenges reflected in the lack of ability to exploit the untapped tourism potential in the relevant area based on horse back riding tradition and rich cultural equestrian heritage. Mutual experience gained through the implementation of the cross-border projects and the high motivation of the partners will be used for solving identified problems. The main objective of this project to enrich and diversify tourist offer in the cross-border area which is based on cultural and natural heritage of the region - tight co-existence of the man and horse throughout the centuries. Precise and tailor made activities will be focused on promotion of activity-tourism based on horse back riding diversified in order to address specific target groups. The project will diversify, integrate and enrich the cross-border tourism offer based on equestrian tradition and origin. Project outputs are: established horse trail, horses platform, equipped horse route (Croatia), 2 equipped horse baloon arenas, 1 paddock and 1 barn, (Serbia), educated and informed target groups and direct participants at the project, organised several mutual events and visibility events as well, necessary traditional equestrian equipment provided, new services introduced etc. Target groups are: Service providers in tourism in Srijem region, local community social services providers, small family firms, tourists and local population, the disabled etc.Target groups will benefit from the project in a way that they will be able to develop and improve competitiveness of their offer by using the new improved tourism potentials. Others will use the offer for pleasure or for rehabilitation. The main added value of the cross-border area is manifested through the unification and integration of the tourist offer, promotion and branding of the area based on cultural and natural heritage-horse based tourism offer.

Expected Outputs (EN):

The project's main results that will contribute to the realisation of the programme result indicator are: - Improved capacities of human resources in the sphere of tourism through trainings and educations in order to be able to provide a more advances offer in tourism; - Improved horse related infrastructure (horse platform, trail, bower for tourists in MoN, stable, arena, paddock in MoR, arena in HBA Srem) and modernized horse related equipment (completely trained horse, horse related riding and training equipment) and traditional equipment (carriage, clothes etc.) used by local service providers, family farms, tourist organisations and horse breeding associations; - Organised tourist manifestations (Pokladno jahanje, Divan je kićeni Srijem in Croatia and Fijakerijada in Serbia) involving all the participants,; -Developed strategic document for the whole CBC region in the form of the Study of Tourist potentials for the CBC region. It is expected that the number of visits will increase for 1000 visitors in the five year period.
