The territory of the project is characterized by an important natural heritage, and is considered as a mountain area. That’s why it’s necessary to bring a particular attention in order to limit the depopulation of these marginal areas and contain climate changes, witch impact it deeply. The main economic activity pass by mountain tourism. These last years, we are assisting, sometimes at eh increasing of a demand linked to a cultural discovery of the territory, during all the year: the mining heritage has, in this context, a fundamental role. The project aims to the creation of a cross-border territorial network to create a cultural touristic offer linked the mining patrimony, aiming to a sustainable development. This kind of network has as objective, to allow local communities implied to appropriate this architectural, historical, historical, environmental heritage constituted by mines, forgotten and not usable in their state. Even if Aoste Valley and Savoy have invested in the safeguard, and that local communities asked their valorisation, the management of alpine mine sites are still a common problematic. The project aims, also, to find a use to this patrimony, transforming this “negative” point in a positive one, at the same level as other heritage elements of the Alpes.

Le territoire du projet est caractérisé par un important patrimoine naturel et est considéré comme zone de montagne. Il est dès lors nécessaire d’y porter une attention particulière afin de limiter le dépeuplement des zones marginales et contenir le changement climatique qui le touche fortement.La principale activité économique passe par le tourisme de montagne. Ces dernières années, on assiste toutefois à l’augmentation d’une demande liée à la découverte culturelle du territoire et ce tout le long de l’année : le patrimoine minier joue, dans ce contexte, un rôle capital. Le projet vise donc à la création d’un réseau territorial transfrontalier pour la mise en système d’une offre touristico-culturelle liée au patrimoine minier, dans l’optique d’un développement soutenable. Un tel réseau a pour objectif de permettre aux communités locales impliquées de se réapproprier le patrimoine architectural, historique, culturel et environnemental que constituent les mines, actuellement presque oublié et peu utilisable en l’état. Bien que la Vallée d’Aoste et la Savoie aient déjà investi sur leur sauvegarde et que les communautés locales demandent fortement leur valorisation, la gestion des sites miniers alpins présente encore des problématiques communes. Le projet souhaite donc pouvoir redonner un usage à un tel patrimoine, en transformant ce qui est généralement perçu comme élément négatif en un point de force à promouvoir, au même titre que les autres éléments patrimoniaux alpins.

Expected Results (IT):

Le attività di progetto sono caratterizzate da una forte componente immateriale, ma anche da importanti interventi infrastrutturali, tra cui il recupero materiale e la messa in sicurezza dei siti minerari, essenziali per valorizzare in maniera sostenibile questo patrimonio e incrementarne l’attrattività turistica. Le principali attività sono pertanto la creazione del Museo del Parco minerario valdostano, la musealizzazione del sito minerario di Cogne, il rinnovamento delle scenografie dei musei dell’Espace Alu e del Grand Filon e l’apertura di un percorso esterno nel Comune di La Plagne Tarentaise. Per garantire la sostenibilità degli interventi, sarà realizzata una metodologia di qualità turistica (Ciclo di Qualità) a supporto dell’attività di valorizzazione dei siti minerari. Il Ciclo di Qualità, definito in una Carta di qualità turistica standardizzata, sarà testato e validato sui siti minerari del progetto, diffuso presso le amministrazioni pubbliche transfrontaliere, e più in generale europee, nonché a nuovi siti minerari interessati ad una qualificazione turistica.

Expected Results (EN):

Activities of the project are characterized by an important immaterial component but also but an important infrastructure intervention, especially in the rehabilitation and the secure of mine sites, essential to promote durably this heritage and to increase the touristic frequentation. Main activities are the creation of a Miner Park Museum in Aosta Valley, make the mine site of Cogne a museum, renew the scenography of Alu Space and Grand Filon museums, and the opening of an external path in La Plagne Tarentaise town. To guarantees the durability of interventions, a common methodology of tourism quality has been organised (Cycle of Quality) in sustain to activities of valorisation of mines sites. The quality cycle, defined in the charter of touristic quality, composed by standardised instruments, will be tested and validated on mines sites, diffused toward European and public cross-border administrations, but also to other mine sites, interested for the touristic requalification.

Les activités du projet sont caractérisées par une forte composante immatérielle mais aussi par d’importantes interventions d’infrastructure, notamment de réhabilitation et de mise en sécurité des sites miniers, essentielles pour valoriser durablement ce patrimoine et en augmenter la fréquentation touristique. Les activités principalement menées sont la création du Musée du Parc minier valdôtain, la muséalisation du site minier de Cogne, le renouvellement des scénographies des musées de l’Espace Alu et du Grand Filon et l’ouverture d’un parcours extérieur dans la Commune de la Plagne Tarentaise. Pour garantir la durabilité des interventions, une méthodologie commune de qualité touristique est mise en place (Cycle de qualité) en soutien des activités de valorisation des sites miniers. Le cycle de qualité, défini dans une charte de qualité touristique composée d'outils standardisés, sera testé et validé sur les sites miniers, diffusé auprès des administrations publiques transfrontalières et européennes, ainsi qu’à d’autres sites miniers intéressés par une requalification touristique.
