Development of means for protection of children in danger and improvement of the level of Health and Social Care services for children. Sub-objectives: Axis 1: Protection of Children in Danger - Promotion of European Tools: 1 Promotion / training / demonstrative operation of the European Hotline 116000. 2 Promotion / training / demonstrative operation of the Amber Alert and European Child Alert Automated System (ECAAS)Axis 2 /3: Improvement of Health Services and Social Care Services for Children. 1. Preventive Medicine / Pilot Action development in Greece. 2. Preventive Medicine / Pilot Action development in Bulgaria. 3. Educational Seminars in the field of rescue/ first aid in Greece and Bulgaria in collaboration with the National Center of First Aid. Information added on 2021-02-10, regarding the mitigation of the effects of COVID-19 (the coronavirus pandemic that started in 2019) (English language only): The project "Integrated Territorial Synergies for Children Health and Protection II - INTERSYC II" aims at protecting and improving the quality of life of children in the cross-border area, contributing to the treatment of Covid-19 pandemic through the implementation of a series of actions: • Voluntary Blood Donation Actions, implemented in cooperation with public authorities of the cross border area of Greece and Bulgaria. • Provision of psychological & social support to children and families affected by the Covid-19 crisis, in Greece via the European Helpline 116111, operated by the ‘The Smile of the Child’ with psychologists, available for every child & adult; and in Bulgaria, via the use of existing digital platform managed by specialists-psychologists. • Purchase of necessary Medical Equipment with the purpose of strengthening National Health Systems in cross border level, especially in remote areas. The new medical equipment will: (a) supplement the existing medical mobile unit of intensive care for infants & children, for a more efficient response to Covid-19 crisis and (b) upgrade at least two more existing medical mobile units of the organization “The Smile of the Child”, used as first aid stations of the Voluntary Blood Donor Actions. They will also be set at the disposal of relevant public authorities for the urgent transfer of patients dealing with any health problems. • Lecturing/training sessions addressed to school psychologists & teachers, aiming at educating them for gaining specific knowledge, competences and skills on how to act around Covid-19 and viral infections, in order to support and advice pupils, parents and other professionals in school communities in a proper way. • Α campaign of information, awareness and education related to Covid-19, using digital tools to raise the public awareness on simple measures we can take, according to the World Health Organization, to slow the spread of coronavirus, protecting people from misinformation and promoting ways of management and prevention of Covid-19.

Expected Results (EN):

Immediate help in cases of missing children through the operation of 116000, the Amber Alert, and the ECAAS. Raising public awareness activities (citizens and mass media.) Reduction of cases of child trafficking. Creation of a close cooperation framework between law enforcement bodies of the two countries. Accurate prevention of disease development in the child population of the area of implementation. Raising awareness into educational units and local government bodies on medical and hygiene matters. Improvement of the skills of the staff working with children in the area of first aid – dealing with emergency cases. Enrichment of experiences of the cooperating local bodies and NGOs. Larger coverage of the needs of families in crisis migrants / refugees. Improvement of the existing equipment for preventive medicine and upgrade of the mobile medical units of LB LB has long and the necessary experience of operating/implementing as well as equipping the above activities.At the configuration of timetable of concretisation is taken into serious consideration to put first the actions in the Greek side so that the existing know-how is transmitted for the unhindered completion in the Bulgarian side. The operation of European Tools in the Bulgarian side is ensured by the official certification of NCF and constitutes a critical element of added value for the safety of region of intervention.
