Το έργο αφορά ένα Ενιαίο Σύστημα Παρακολούθησης των Δικτύων Υδρευσης (ΕΣΠΔΥ) το οποίο θα εφαρμοστεί πιλοτικά στη Λεμεσό και στη Χερσόνησο. Το σύνολο των φορέων, αφού μελετήσει τις τρέχουσες υποδομές στις περιοχές πιλότους, θα εξοπλίσει ή θα αναβαθμίσει τα δίκτυα ύδρευσης με κατάλληλους αισθητήρες καταγραφής και εντοπισμού των διαρροών. Οι ερευνητικοί φορείς του προγράμματος χρησιμοποιώντας την τεχνογνωσία τους και σε συνεργασία με τις υπηρεσίες ύδρευσης θα αποφανθούν για το είδος των αισθητήρων αλλά και για τη βέλτιστη θέση τοποθέτησής τους. Το σύστημα παρακολούθησης θα στηρίζεται σε ένα Γεωγραφικό Πληροφοριακό Σύστημα το οποίο θα καταγράφει λεπτομερώς το δίκτυο των αγωγών. Η περιγραφή θα περιλαμβάνει γεωγραφική αποτύπωση αυτών αλλά θα συνοδεύεται και από μετα- πληροφορίες. Λαμβάνοντας πληροφορίες από τους αισθητήρες σε πραγματικό χρόνο, το σύστημα θα απεικονίζει με ακρίβεια τη θέση της βλάβης και το μέγεθος αυτής. Στο πλαίσιο του έργου θα αναπτυχθεί επίσης μια εφαρμογή για κινητές συσκευές η οποία εμπλουτίζει τη φαρέτρα των υπηρεσιών ύδρευσης με σύγχρονες τεχνολογίες. Συμπληρωματικά, η εφαρμογή θα παρέχει δυνατότητες επαυξημένης πραγματικότητας απεικονίζοντας το υπέδαφος γύρω από την ανιχνευθείσα διαρροή και τις διάφορες σωληνώσεις τόσο ύδρευσης όσο και άλλων υπηρεσιών. Τα τεχνικά συνεργεία των υπηρεσιών ύδρευσης θα μπορούν να εντοπίσουν με ακρίβεια τη θέση της απώλειας και να ανταποκριθούν άμεσα, μειώνοντας το κόστος και τον χρόνο των επισκευών.

Description (EN):

The project concerns a Water System Monitoring, which will be applied in Limassol and Hersonisos. After reviewing the current infrastructure in pilot areas, all operators will equip or upgrade their water supply networks with appropriate sensing and leak detection sensors. The program's research entities, using their know-how and in cooperation with water services, will decide on the type of sensors but also on their optimum place of placement. The monitoring system will be based on a Geographical Information System which will record the pipeline network in detail. The description will include a geographical imprint of these but will be accompanied by meta-data. By taking real-time sensor information, the system will accurately reflect the location of the fault and its size. The project will also develop a mobile application that enriches the quantum of water services with modern technologies. Additionally, the application will provide augmented reality capabilities by depicting the subsoil around the detected leakage and various pipelines of both water and other services. The technical services of the Water Services will be able to accurately locate the location of the loss and respond directly, reducing the cost and time of repairs.

Expected Results (EL):

Τα αναμενόμενα αποτελέσματα περιλαμβάνουν: 1. Ανάπτυξη εξειδικευμένου λογισμικού αποτύπωσης του δικτύου ύδρευσης και ανίχνευσης διαρροών. 2.Ανάπτυξη λογισμικού κινητών συσκευών και ενσωμάτωση υπηρεσιών επαυξημένης πραγματικότητας. 3.Προμήθεια, εγκατάσταση και λειτουργία αισθητήρων. 4. Επίτευξη της μείωσης του νερού που χάνεται κατά 4% στη Λεμεσό και άνω του 10% στην Χερσόνησο, που μεταφράζεται σε εξυπηρέτηση επιπρόσθετων περίπου 1000 καταναλωτών σε κάθε περιοχή. 5. Συλλογή πραγματικών δεδομένων. 6. Εκπαίδευση του προσωπικού των υπηρεσιών ύδρευσης έτσι ώστε να βελτιωθεί η αποτελεσματικότητα στην αντιμετώπιση διαρροών, όπως επίσης και να διασφαλιστεί η σωστή χρήση του συστήματος αλλά και η συνέχεια της λειτουργίας του και μετά το πέρας του έργου.

Expected Results (EN):

The expected results include: 1. Development of specialized water network with capture software for leakage detection. 2. Development of mobile software and integration of augmented reality services. 3. Supply, installation and operation of sensors. 4. Achieve a reduction in water lost by 4% in Limassol and more than 10% in Hersonissos, which translates to serving an additional 1,000 consumers in each area. 5. Collection of real data. 6. Staff training in order to improve the efficiency of the leakage, as well as to ensure the proper use of the system and its continuity after the end of the project.

Στο πλαίσιο του έργου θα παραδοθούν 2 συστήματα λογισμικού (ΓΠΣ, κινητής συσκευής) και ένα σύνολο αισθητήρων για κάθε υπηρεσία ύδρευσης. Το ΓΠΣ θα περιλαμβάνει αναλυτική καταγραφή του δικτύου στις περιοχές ενδιαφέροντος ενώ θα παρέχει δυνατότητες επέκτασής του. Ταυτόχρονα, η κινητή εφαρμογή θα παρέχει τη δυνατότητα στους χρήστες, μέσω επαυξημένης πραγματικότητας, να επισημαίνουν με ακρίβεια τη θέση των αγωγών. Η χρήση αυτής της τεχνολογίας επιτρέπει στα συνεργεία να εντοπίζουν ταχύτερα την ακριβή θέση των σωλήνων, μειώνοντας σημαντικά τόσο το χρόνο επιδιόρθωσης της διαρροής όσο και το κόστος της. Παράλληλα, η εγκατάσταση των αισθητήρων θα συνδράμει στην αμεσότερη και ακριβέστερη ανίχνευση των διαρροών, μειώνοντας την ποσότητα ύδατος που χάνεται αλλά και τις αποτυχημένες εκσκαφές. Ως αποτέλεσμα, προστατεύεται το περιβάλλον και εξοικονομούνται μεγάλα χρηματικά ποσά. Εκτιμάται ότι οι βελτιωμένες υπηρεσίες θα μειώσουν τις απώλειες νερού κατά τουλάχιστον 4% για τη Λεμεσό και 10% για τη Χερσόνησο. Η εξοικονόμηση αυτή μπορεί να εξυπηρετήσει πρόσθετο πληθυσμό 1000 καταναλωτών σε κάθε περιοχή. Συνολικά αναμένεται βελτίωση της ποιότητας υπηρεσιών ύδρευσης προς 350,000 κατοίκους

Expected Outputs (EN):

The project will deliver 2 software systems (GIS, mobile device) and a set of sensors for each water service. GIS will include a detailed study of the network in the areas of interest and will provide possibilities for its expansion. At the same time, the mobile application will enable users, via augmented reality, to pinpoint the location of the pipelines accurately. The use of this technology allows to locate the exact position of the pipes more quickly, significantly reducing both leakage repair time and cost. The sensors’ installation will help to detect leakage more directly and more accurately, reducing the amount of water lost and the failed excavations. As a result, the environment is protected and large sums of money are saved. It is estimated that improved services will reduce water losses by at least 4% for Limassol and 10% for Hersonissos. These savings can serve an additional population of 1,000 consumers in each region. Overall, is expected an improvement in the quality of water services to 350,000 inhabitants
