Description (EN):

Programme area has magnificent potential for tourism and has an important cultural heritage of significance to both communities including important monuments, sites, traditional events and manifestatons, but it is not exploited due to many factors. The project is a great opportunity for cross-border partners to promote the emerging tourism sector of the region, to attract a wider audience in a renewal of interest in their common cultures and history assets. Emphasizing strong cultural and historical links will stimulate regional integrity and favour tourism on both side of countries. Due to actual economic situation, municipal financial support is insufficient for culture and cultural manifestations, which is in opposite with growing number of quality culture organizations and institutions both in Pozarevac and Anina. Therefore, there are no adequate opportunities for mutual representing and introduction of very rich offer of cultural contents from Pozarevac and Anina. Overall objective of the project is the promotion of the culture and tradition in the purpose of improvement of cultural tourism and touristic offer in the cross-border area. Setting foundations for the organization of an annual cultural events, will create the network of cultural assosiations and institutions from the both side. Organising multicultural festivals will provide necessary boost to the local associations and all interested entities in tourism sector. Also, Project would help this area to adjust to the new demands of the tourism market and to create a different image of the Region. Organizing festivals will contribute improvement of cultural exchange between project partners, skills transfer, and also learning about cultural heritage and tradition in the region. Project area is characterized by very rich historical background demonstrating the religious, cultural and demographic influences in the area from Roman times to the present day. These historical links provide the potential for culture and tourism development.

The organisation of multicultural festivals provided the necessary boost to the local associations and all interested entities in the tourism sector. Achieved results: 4 new culture festivals organized. 2 new exhibitions of handicrafts, traditional food and honey products organized. 1 cultural-sports manifestation organized. 1 web page created: http://www.culturehasnoborders.org/

Expected Results (EN): PA4-RI1 Number of tourists arrivals in the eligible area. Flows of visitors in the area for all forms of tourism activities and cross border networks.

Expected Outputs (EN):

• New cultural contents established in both project partners municipalities. Contribution to the programme result indicator: 4 new cultural events will inevitably contribute to the enrichment of overall cultural offer in the region. • Increased number of visitors compared to 2015. In the cross-border region. Contribution to the programme result indicator: We expect approximately 7% of more visitors from the region in 2017. on above mentioned cultural events. This will have an impact on increasing of budget incomes in both partner municipalities, and in the final outcome on overall tourism improvement in the cross-border region.
