Description (EN):

In the field of civil protection exercises are equally important as other forms of projects. The aim of the BALEX DELTA 2018 exercise is to test and improve procedures and methods for combating oil and chemical spills at sea and on shore, in a multilateral context, using the HELCOM framework and the EU and national host nation support guidelines. The exercise’s main expected result is to improve the response capacity for incidents with hazardous and noxious substances (HNS), on all levels, and to improve collaboration and cooperation between actors, at sea and on the shore. The project helps implements action 1 "Develop a joint macro-regional prevention and preparedness approach towards major hazards and emergencies" and action 2 "Foster dialogue and common approaches to civil protection in the Baltic Sea region" of objective A of policy area Secure's Action Plan. The flagship involves partners from Finland, Poland, Sweden and HELCOM.
