Description (EN):

The project team has significant experience in the management and promotion of the ethno-cultural heritage. The main driver of the cooperation is to connect the "island-like" functioning cultural content on both sides of the border. If these contents are coordinated and inserted into a single framework, we should be able to reach large masses and thereby promote folk culture in a more effective way. The main object of the project is to satisfy the needs of population living in the program regio n via cultural and tourism events and activities. Another aim is to make the folk culture more attractive among young people in the area by providing cultural programs. Specific objectives of the project: - To stimulate the existing cooperation betw een the applicant organizations, - Development of new contacts between cultural institutions and organizations on the both sides of the border via networking to maximize the multiplier effect, - awareness raising in the direction of ethno culture to make it attractive among young people and create a demand of deeper understanding of folk culture in the region, - To develop vibrant, proactive multicultural communities on both sides of the border. During the project we organiz numerous events in order to achieve objectives: 4 festivals (Dombos Fest and Street Folk Fest 2-2 times), etno-folk themed workshops, folk concerts with assistance of famous performers, a thematic lecture series and folk-dance events with a total attendance of more tha n 15 000 people. Special attention is paid to the two-way information flow, accordingly we organize an Open University two times where participants get closer to their own folk culture and actively participate in the community development. During the project the needs of the target groups for folk culture will be continuously measured, we will seek their opinion about the events using the technical advantages of the 21st century.
