El proyecto CLIM´PY tiene como objetivo conocer la evolución y tendencias del clima del Pirineo en el contexto del cambio global, con estas acciones prioritarias: creación de una amplia base de datos de temperatura, precipitación y nieve, homogeneizada y con control de calidad; desarrollo de indicadores climáticos que permitan realizar un diagnóstico completo de las tendencias observadas, actualizables en el marco del OPCC; analizar la distribución del manto de nieve y su variabilidad espacio-temporal; y generar proyecciones climáticas regionalizadas para la puesta en funcionamiento de políticas de adaptación al cambio climático. La propuesta CLIM´PY da continuidad a la Acción Clima del proyecto OPCC-EFA235/11, y se apoya en la cooperación establecida entre los principales organismos de investigación de ambos lados del Pirineo. Al mismo tiempo, se inscribe en la necesidad de ofrecer una iniciativa duradera y actualizable que posibilite realizar diagnósticos útiles del clima de amplia proyección futura. Los resultados pretenden contribuir al desarrollo de la estrategia y plan de acción del OPCC. Además, aportarán conocimiento que permita evaluar los impactos sobre el territorio (recursos hídricos, ecosistemas, biodiversidad, turismo, energía, etc.), y plantear opciones de adaptación al cambio climático.

Le projet CLIM´PY vise à améliorer la connaissance sur l’évolution du climat sur les Pyrénées dans le contexte du changement climatique, avec les actions prioritaires suivantes: création d’une base de données complète sur les températures, les précipitations et la neige, avec homogénisation et contrôle de qualité; développement d’indicateurs climatiques permettant de réaliser un diagnostic complet des tendances observées, actualisables dans le cadre de l’OPCC; analyse de la distribution du manteau neigeux et de sa variabilité spatio-temporelle; élaboration de projections climatiques régionalisées en appui aux politiques d’adaptation au changement climatique. La proposition CLIM’PY est un prolongement de l’action climat du projet OPCC-EFA235/11, et s’appuie sur la coopération établie entre les principaux organismes de recherche des deux côtés des Pyrénées. En même temps, elle répond aux besoins d’offrir une initiative durable et actualisable pour l’élaboration de diagnostics climatiques concernant les projections futures. Les résultats contribueront au développement de la stratégie et du plan d’action de l’OPCC. Ils apporteront aussi de nouvelles connaissances pour l’évaluation des impacts sur le territoire (ressources en eau, écosystèmes, biodiversité, tourisme, énergie, etc.), et la prise de décision en matière d’adaptation au changement climatique.

The CLIM´PY project aims to determine the evolution and climate trends of the Pyrenees in the context of global change, considering these priority actions: creation of a comprehensive temperature, rainfall and snow database which will be quality controlled and homogenized; the development of climatic indicators in order to perform a complete diagnosis of the trends observed and will be updatable within the framework of the OPCC; to analyze the distribution of the snow cover and its spatial and temporal variability, finally, the developing of regional climate projections in order to implement policies for adapting to climate change. CLIM´PY proposal gives continuity to the climate action of the OPCC-EFA235/11 project, and relies on the cooperation established between the main research centers on both sides of the Pyrenees. At the same time, it fits the need to offer a long-term, updateable initiative that will enable the possibility to perform useful wide projection of future climate diagnostics. The results are intended to contribute to the development of the strategy and plan of OPCC action. In addition, they will provide knowledge that enables to assess impacts on the territory (water resources, ecosystems, biodiversity, tourism, energy, etc.), and consider options for adapting to climate change.
