Grâce à la variété de ses écosystèmes, le massif des Pyrénées est un véritable réservoir de biodiversité maillé de territoires caractérisés par une forte diversité de milieux et d’habitats remarquables. La haute valeur naturelle de ces écosystèmes se reflète dans la multitude de figures existant sur les Pyrénées. La présence de milieux identiques, de problématiques de conservation d’habitats ou d’espèces similaires ou l’existence d’initiatives complémentaires en termes de protection de l’environnement, illustrent la nécessité pour chacun de ces espaces naturels de coopérer dans le but de contribuer à l’amélioration et la protection des écosystèmes transfrontaliers Pyrénéens dans leur ensemble. Le projet GREEN ambitionne donc de renforcer la coordination entre espaces naturels et gestionnaires en: - Concrétisant la mise en réseau des opérateurs des espaces naturels des Pyrénées et ainsi permettre une coordination accrue entre les gestionnaires des espaces naturels - Partageant les connaissances, les pratiques de gestion et les enjeux de chaque espace naturel - Mettant en œuvre des actions de restauration, conservation ou gestion spécifiques à trois milieux à enjeux: la forêt, les milieux agricoles et les milieux lacustre et tourbeux - Informant la société, les décideurs et les acteurs locaux sur les enjeux propres à la biodiversité des Pyrénées

Gracias a la variedad de sus ecosistemas, el macizo del Pirineo es una verdadera reserva de biodiversidad, un mosaico de territorios caracterizados por una fuerte diversidad de ambientes y de hábitats. El alto valor natural de estos ecosistemas se refleja en la multitud de figuras que existen en el Pirineo. La presencia de espacios similares y de problemáticas de conservación de hábitats o de especies análogas o la existencia de iniciativas complementarias en términos de protección medioambiental, ilustran la necesidad para cada uno de estos espacios naturales de cooperar con el fin de contribuir a la mejora y la protección de los ecosistemas transfronterizos Pirenaicos en su conjunto. El proyecto GREEN busca reforzar la coordinación entre espacios naturales y gestores: - Concretando la puesta en red de los operadores de los espacios naturales de los Pirineos y así permitir una coordinación más amplia entre los gestores de los espacios naturales - Compartiendo los conocimientos, las prácticas de gestión y los retos de cada espacio natural - Ejecutando acciones específicas de restauración, conservación o gestión en tres ambientes prioritarios: el bosque, los medios agrícolas y los medios lacustres y turbosos - Informando la sociedad, los responsables y los actores locales sobre los retos específicos de la biodiversidad de los Pirineos

Thanks to the variety of its ecosystems, the Pyrenean massif is a real reservoir of biodiversity; a patchwork of territories characterized by a strong diversity of environments and habitats. The high natural value of these ecosystems is reflected in the many forms of protection sites that exist in the Pyrenees: National Parks, Regional Nature Parks, Nature Reserves, National Nature Reserves, Regional Nature Reserves, Biodiversity biotope protection zones, Conservatories of natural spaces, etc. The existence of these sites on both sides of the Pyrenees with similar habitat and species conservation problems and challenges, as well as the existence of complementary initiatives in terms of environmental protection, illustrate the need for each of these natural areas to cooperate in order to contribute to the improvement and protection of the Pyrenean ecosystems as a whole. The GREEN project aims to strengthen coordination between natural areas and managers: • Encouraging the networking of managers of natural areas of the Pyrenees and promote greater coordination between them. • Sharing knowledge, management practices and challenges of each natural area among partners. • Carrying out specific actions of restoration, conservation or management in three priority environments: forest, agropastoral and fresh water habitats. • Informing society, administrations and local stakeholders on the specific challenges of biodiversity conservation of the Pyrenees.
