Description (EN):

The ADNICH project proposes the creation of a South Adriatic network between Italy, Albania and Montenegro, which can enhance the immaterial heritage of the three countries through art and theatre, by dialoguing the different expressive elements of anthropic landscape (identity, traditions,..) for the creation of innovative and cross-border contents. Article 2 of the UNESCO Convention defines intangible cultural heritage as "practices, representations, expressions, knowledge, know-how, as well as the tools, objects, artefacts and cultural spaces associated with them - communities, groups, and in some cases individuals recognize as part of their cultural heritage“. This intangible cultural heritage, transmitted from generation to generation, is constantly recreated by communities and groups in response to their environment, their interaction with nature and their history, and gives them a sense of identity and continuity by promoting such way of respect for cultural diversity and human creativity. The area involved by the Program presents extraordinary features of Mediterranean cultures and at the same time face the same problems in terms of ethnic minorities and immigrants’ integration, gender disparities. These issues – if managed correctly – may favour a new artistic and cultural synthesis in terms of theatre production, which is the subject that ADNICH intends to explore and promote within an international audience. ADNICH, after a first phase of anthropological analysis, intends to develop theatre residences and workshops involving the local communities of the three countries, aiming at developing joint productions to be promoted within a South Adriatic festival of experimental theatre. A path that aims to involve local communities, public institutions, schools, theatre academies, opinion leaders and local artists from the three countries as beneficiaries, but in a wider perspective produce a tourist network linked to the landscape and intangible assets.

Achievements (EN):

The goal of the project could be described as implementation of actions to increase cross-border cooperation on cultural field, with a specific focus on intangible heritage. The goal has been reached through co-related actions performed by a mix of academic and local cultural bodies in the areas of Cetinje, Lecce, and Central Albania. Project outputs encompass: - a detailed and up-to-date sociological study on intangible heritage in the project areas. - a comprehensive audience development strategy performed within local communities (3 focus groups, 17 workshops, 18 artistic residences, and 3 co-writing workshop cycles realized overall). - artistic contents productions (6 theatrical plays and 1 movie). - the organization of the 1st edition of the Adriatic Ionian Theater Festival. - the establishment of the International Theater Institute Center of Montenegro.

Expected Results (EN): a) cross border networks in the cultural and creative fields;

Expected Outputs (EN):

he Axis 2. 2. of the Programme has two specific result indicator: a) cross border networks in the cultural and creative fields; b) cross-border agreements in the cultural and creative fields. Considering the first topic, ADNICH intends to act into two ways: the creation of a cross boarder scientific committee in charge for the definition of the content of the cultural production, together with local communities and the creation of an international ensemble of artists and technicians, for the production of innovative cultural products. Considering the second topic, the increased structured cooperation and networking in the cultural and creative sectors arising from the Project will be exploited in the set up the first branch of ITI in Montenegro by the end of the Project. In this way, all the Programme Areas can count a representative in this important cultural international network and continue disseminating ADNICH’s best practice.
