Description (EN):

The EN-IN project corresponds to the PA1b of the EUSDR and focus on development of socio-environmentally appropriate and socio-economically sustainable transport services in rural areas for improved mobility of people.It aims to promote the active inclusion and full participation of disabled and elderly people in the Danube area societies through improvement of conditions for their mobility. It is widely known that Danube area transport services are lagging other EU regions and this is even more evident for the provision of transport services, accessibility and mobility for disabled and elderly persons living in the Danube region. Often neglected in the mobility and transport schemes, the improvement of mobility of disabled and other marginalised groups of people in the Danube area is significant barrier to sustainable and inclusive economic growth and development. The EN-IN project aims to tackle this important issue by preparation of multifaceted strategic transnational project that will aim at increased intensity of cooperation between important stakeholders, facilitate transnational exchange of best practices and drafting of strategy for improvement of the mobility and safety for disabled and elderly people in the Danube region. The EN-IN is fully in line with the EUSDR PA1b declaration that the right to mobility and accessibility to health services (hospitals), education (schools, universities), culture (museums, opera/drama) should be equal for all people of the Danube region, in remote and rural areas as well. The project will assess the needs and challenges in relation to accessibility of the disabled people and propose sustainable solution for the development of services in that respect by including creation of the online platform for provision of information and availability of services to disabled persons in the overall project proposal.It also tackles PA3 and topic 2: development of applications and innovative tools for tourists.
