Description (EN):

Our project is focused and contributes to PA10- »Institutional Capacity& Cooperation«, focus topic »low-threshold provision of local services for homeless people in cities and municipalities in the Danube Region«. Homelessness usually means not only to be without a home but also usually without a job. You are left out of the system and it is difficult to get back in the society. This is also partly the problem of this a lack of quality public service, excessive bureaucracy (or lack of it), in many countries do not have a system for tracking the number of homeless people and so they stay out of the system. In Danube region, the problem of homeless people is mainly dealt with civil society organizations (KARITAS, NGO's, etc…). Public services, especially employment services do not participate or don’t have the knowledge to help the homeless. Therefore, the focus of the main project would be on Improving the quality of public services by optimizing governance mechanisms. Activities involved would take the form of training and capacity building on good practices for included stakeholders to contribute to improve skills, competence and motivation of public services and to foster the connection between civil society organizations and public services. Also, we would develop unified system for the inclusion of all homeless (those that stay re living rough, staying with family or friends, and other individuals without accommodation, are not registered at shelters, hostels, etc.). This system would be online based and available for every country in DANUBE region to be used. By successful implementation of the project, we would contribute to the specific topic by strengthening the institutional capacity-building role of civil society organizations, the establishment of the connection between civil society organizations and public services and by the increased social inclusion of homeless in the society.
