Les iles de la Méditerranée doivent faire face à une série de criticités liées à leur dépendance énergétique des combustibles fossiles en termes de couts élevés, sécurité et gestion. PRISMI tache de répondre à ces défis en soutenant la transition des iles MED à un système énergétique autonome, propre et sur à travers le développement d’une approche transnationale intégrée pour évaluer et exploiter les ressources renouvelables (RES). Ce modèle sera développé à travers un projet d’étude qui réunit des experts, les autorités publiques et les communautés locales de 5 territoires-cible en vue d’encourager les utilisateurs finaux à reprendre les produits du projet. Parmi ceux-ci, les principaux constituant la valeur innovatrice du projet sont: i)une boite à outils intégrée pour l’évaluation et le mappage du potentiel local des RES et leur exploitation dans des nouveaux systèmes énergétiques; ii)un Plan d’Action pour l’Energie Durable élaboré pour chaque région cas d’étude avec des recommandations et stratégies pour développer l’intégration des RES; iii)l’établissement d’un Réseau de Stakeholders PRISMI pour soutenir l’échange de connaissance et meilleures pratiques dans l’intégration des RES. Ces produits représenteront un cadre de référence soutenant les Municipalités dans la création d’initiatives économiques visant une pénétration plus marquée des RES dans le mix énergétique des iles MED – ainsi contribuant au développement durable et à une croissance inclusive dans la région.

Mediterranean islands (Misl) are characterized by several energy criticalities in terms of high costs, security and management due to their high dependence on fossil fuels. PRISMI aims at tackling this key challenges by supporting the transition of Misl to an autonomous, cleaner, secure, low-carbon energy system – in line with the overall EU Energy Union package and EU2020 Strategy – through the development of an integrated trans-national approach to assess and exploit the renewable energy sources (RES). Such model will be developed through a studying project bringing together academia, public authorities and local communities of five target territories with a view to fully empower end-users in the take-up of project outputs. Among these, the main ones constituting the key innovative value of the project are: - An integrated toolkit for assessing and mapping the local potential of RES and their exploitation in new energy systems. - A Sustainable Energy Action Plan drafted for each case study area with recommendations and strategies for developing integrated RES. - The establishment of a PRISMI Network of Stakeholders to support exchange of knowledge and best practices in RES integration in Misl. These outputs will represent a reference framework supporting end-users in driving and intercepting economic initiatives aimed at increasing the penetration of RES in Misl energy mix – thus contributing to sustainable development and inclusive growth throughout the Programme area.

Achievements (EN):

PRISMI main objective is the development of an integrated toolkit able to assess and map RES for the targeted elaboration of energy scenarios of RES penetration in the electrical systems of Misl.In WP1, the Mid-term Meeting was held in Zagreb in July 2017. Each partner carefully dealt with management of administrative and financial issues of the period. The LP continuously monitored project progress in term of activities and financial issues, as well as the level of expenditure as deriving from RP1 (cf. D 1. 3.1 Mid Term Evaluation Report).In WP2, a 2nd leaflet was produced specifically for the Regional Engagement Events and focused on PRISMI tool. 2 surveys have been created, one addressed to small islands’ local citizens and the other one to stakeholders and local authorities. The former and the related press release have been translated in PPs national languages in order to reach a wider audience and a greater impact. PPs spread the two documents to their national and international contacts. The mid-term publishable summary was drafted and translated by each PP in its national language, Favignana dealt with the French translation as well. In order to reach the scientific community, several scientific papers have been presented in the International SDEWES Conference held in Dubrovnik, HR (October 2017). In RP2, PPs started organizing the Regional Engagement events (D 2. 4.1) that will be the occasion to spread PRISMI outcomes. Policy Briefs (D 2. 4.2) have been developed and translated. Communication between PRISMI consortium, the Programme and HP has been continuous, as demonstrated by D 2. 6.1 and D 2. 7. 1. PRISMI team participated in several external events as better explained in WP2 description.In WP3, PPs have gathered the data in order to test the loadflow tool (D 3. 2.1) under different boundary conditions. The GIS database (D 3. 3.2) has been developed by SAP and all PPs have collaborated by providing the data in the right format for GIS application. UNIZAG continued working on D 3. 4.2 by producing userguide to devise energy scenarios and produced pre and post-processing tools. CRES developed the Wind power calculator able to deliver yearly wind power time series for energy planning calculations. CEA explained the process of creating SEAP / SECAP through the platform of the Covenant of Mayors to the partners at the 2nd project meeting. Regarding A 3.6, the PRISMI Network has grown during this period thanks to each partner great effort.
