Description (EN):

The Project must make it possible to contribute to the development of cross-border tourist activities in the Pyrenean territory. This is a European pilot project aimed at installing the Internet in mountain refuges, thus making it possible to book accommodation online and develop roaming. It will also improve the internal management of the shelters through the development of appropriate software. It is divided into 6 actions aimed at: - intensify the network of communication infrastructures and install the complementary energy equipment corresponding to this need, - develop sustainable tourism specific to high mountain areas by offering tools for booking accommodation online and developing cross-border roaming, - train guards and shelter owners to master the tools created All this on the basis of a communication plan on the project and promotion of the tools.

Achievements (EN):

Creation of a web product for the joint promotion of nine French and Spanish Pyrenean refuges. Access to internet and new technologies for isolated mountain refuges, making their use sustainable by providing them with renewable energies. Creation of a website to promote cross-border trekking routes between refuges, with its own digital cartography, detailed information, organisation tools and the possibility of joint online reservations. Design of the bases of a future cross-border association of owners and managers of mountain refuges in the Pyrenees.
