Description (EN):

Project is about a cultural heritage based initiative that will be implemented in a commonly coordinated cross-border tourism destination, formed by Szeged (LB) and Subotica (B1). The two settlements have complementary local assets: Art Nouveau build ings / heritage are the identified ‘Tourism Trademark’ of the cross-border tourism destination. Activities in the project are aiming at promoting sustainable utilization and development of natural and cultural heritage, while capitalization and dura bility of results are also emphasized. The fact is that none of the Beneficiaries are entitled to sell tourism products, such as tourism packages directly to the different target groups. Experiences and professionalism in tourism development are howe ver concentrated at the partners in the target area. In order to increase income from tourism and related sectors in the cross-border target area, LB and B1 are planning ‘sales promotion’ and tourism development activities that are aiming at, on one hand, the ‘catalysts’ (tour operators, media) and on the other hand, potential visitors that can be attracted by the joint activities. Main features of the project are as follows: an existing partnership will be developed to a higher level; Joint app earance and close cooperation is essential in making common initiatives successful; All the activities are implemented in cross-border cooperation, with CB impact; Activities will be carried out by partners in synergy, with several innovative element s; Promotion and target groups outside the target area have significant role in the project; Horizontal objectives have special importance and project contributes to them in a proactively positive way. Main activities, among others, are: elaboration of tourism Action Plan, common design and common publications on the common destination, development of mobile app, i-beacon, Braille signs, etc.
