Description (EN): Road network that do not meet modern standards affect the low level connection places and regions, as well as on their economic development. The roads are the main channel for the transportation of cargo and passengers, and play an important role in improving the socio-economic standards of the region, as well as the most important means of communication and the project partners agreed to work on improving the road network in the border region.
In the previous joint project, IBC, with the same partners, we did the technical documentation for reconstruction of roads leading to the border crossings from both sides, and a logical continuation of the reconstruction of the road to the border crossing on both sides which does not meet the standards the quality of road traffic, which is a major obstacle to the improvement in the quality of transportation of goods, people and improve living conditions. We have in minded that in the course of the 01-12. 2017 year 178,809 people cross the border, and that in January 2018, 12,463 were people so it is important to work to improve roads.
The overall objective: The convergence of people, communities and economic actors of the border area, in order to create a sound basis for balanced economic and social development, assuring optimal development opportunities for both countries.
Specific objectives:
- Strengthening economic ties between border regions in order to boost sustainable economic development building on joint development of the social and cultural coherence among people and communities.
- Increase of traffic safety of all participants, with special emphasis on the youngest participants - school children.
- Raising awareness of the importance of preserving the environment by using renewable energy sources for sustainable community development.
The project deliverable and output can be summarized as:
- The reconstructed 1,59 km of road in Romania
- The reconstructed 1,80 km of road in Serbia
- Instaled Solar illumination along 7 km the bike paths to the border crossing
- Held Regional Fair of Economy
- Held round table
- Booklet of legal regulations for the market of Serbia, Romania
- Held training for the youngest of safety in traffic
- Held competition in cycling-Safe driving
- Held one day bike ride, Jimbolia – Kikinda, -"Gastronomic routes"
- Created promo material "We care about our environment"
Target groups:
- Local government in the North Banat district and Timis, the relevant regional and national institutions, NGOs and associations
- Residents in border areas
- SMEs and businesses on both sides of the border
- School children on both sides of the border
IBC-2 project is designed to overcome the current obstacles to the cross-border area, and to contribute to better integration in the region, in line with the analysis of the situation in the strategy of the Romania - Serbia.

The project partners identified the need to improve the road network in the border region, especially at and near border crossing points like Nakovo-Lunca, as a solution for social and economic development.
In the previous joint project, IBC, with the same partners, we did the technical documentation to reconstruct roads leading to the border crossings from both sides. The current project was a logical continuation aiming to put the technical documentation to good use. Therefore, we rehabilitated roads, we installed solar illumination and we continued to prepare technical documentation for future improvements in the field of transport and mobility infrastructure in the area.
DEGREE OF ACHIEVEMENT OF INDICATORS : 1 study related to the implementation of selected projects or the realisation of actions in the field of transport and mobility infrastructure.
3670 investments in transport and utilities infrastructure, including improvement, enhancement of existing infrastructure.
1360 participants to information/ training/ awareness raising initiatives in the field of transport and public utilities.
500 joint initiatives on improvements of public transport and intermodal connections.
RESULTS ACHIEVED: 1 prepared Technical documentation for Rehabilitation of the streets adjacent to the national road 59C in Jimbolia. (100%).

1.800 meters of rehabilitated road no. 15 I-B section: Kikinda – Nakovo. (100%).
280 solar illumination installed, with video surveillance. (100%).
25 participants acquired knowledge about the new possibilities for improvement of cross-border economic cooperation at cross-border events. (125%).
64 participants were informed and recognized the initiative for new connections established through the transport sector. (128%).
199 participants were informed through training and strengthening the participation in the transport sector. (166%).
72 participants become familiar with the new possibilities in the field of transport and raising awareness about the importance of the initiative for further joint development. (144%).
1000 participants in events that raised awareness on the importance of preserving the environment through exploring explanations for the basic, frequently used biological and ecological terms, and the terms that are directly related to the issue of preserving the environment. (100%).
500 booklets provided to interested business representatives to provide timely, accurate and key information regarding the conditions of economic launch in Romania and Serbia. (100%) .

Expected Results (EN): PA3-RI1 Population accessing to sustainable and efficient public mobility and transport services. Population having access to improved local transport infrastructures, faster connections to main corridors, efficient border crossing services, transport services using innovative technologies.
Expected Outputs (EN): Result 1: Improved quality standards in public transport and mobility services.
Modernization of the road network increases the mobility of the population, development cooperation between business sectors, contributing to employment of residents on both sides of the border.
Result 2: Model of cooperation and linking MSPs and the population in the border areas. Through economy fair associate business sector, we create employment opportunity and connect cross-border population communities.
Result 3: Increased traffic safety, with special attention to youngest population. Providing technical standards in transport is important for security but is necessary for and on their education, particularly the youngest participants.
Result 4: Raised awareness of target groups and the general populations of the importance of environmental protection. The use of renewable energy, reducing air pollution, impact on more responsible behaviour to the environment.
