Description (EN):

The common challenge for the Partners is inefficient transport and insufficient number of transport network within the PL-BY borderland, which makes the region less attractive for investors. The project is focused on increasing transport accessibility of the regions within the Polish-Belarussian borderland through investing in road infrastructure. The project involves repairing and reconstructing roads in the cross-border area and purchasing equipment for maintaining the roads on both sides of the border, which shall allow for keeping them in good condition. Its product shall be: repaired roads, purchased equipment, conferences and meetings, issued information brochures and an information-promotional campaign. The project shall result in improving transport accessibility of border areas. This shall lead to, e.g., shorter travel time on local and regional roads that shall receive support. The target group are the recipients of the executed tasks, i.e. transport specialists and inhabitants of the supported regions that shall benefit from support at conferences and meetings. The ultimate beneficiaries shall mainly be the inhabitants of border areas and other users of modernised roads. Undertaking measures at the international level shall contribute to solving the existing problems in the regions - Nowy Dwor Municipality and Grodno Oblast. Achieving the assumed objectives shall allow for improving the situation of the target groups and project beneficiaries. It is assumed that the planned project shall bring long-terms benefits. Improving the accessibility of borderland regions is not possible without cooperation within the Programme. Thanks to initiating joint tasks, the measures, so far undertaken separately by the entities, shall be strengthened. The knowledge and experience of each Partner shall be complementary, which shall lead to achieving the assumed objectives and results.

Number of awareness-raising campaigns concerning the low-carbon transportation - 1. Number of districts benefitting from modernized/created transport services and infrastructure - 2. Number of partnerships established in order to modernize/create the environmentally friendly transport systems or services - 1. Total length of reconstructed or upgraded roads (ENI/CBC 27) - 11,49.
