Description (EN): Prevention and exclusion of emergency situations caused by man-made disasters in sewage systems in Danube Delta border area.

Achievements (EN):

CLEAN RIVER - Sewage networks rehabilitated in Romania and Ukraine: The large infrastructure project financed by ENI CBC Romania-Ukraine rehabilitated sewage networks in Izmail City (UA) and Tulcea County Emergency Hospital (RO), provided trainings and emergency intervention equipment, but also numerous activities aiming at enhancing the stakeholders’ awareness in prevention emergency situations caused by man-made disasters, technological or natural disasters in the Lower Danube region.

Expected Results (EN):

1 functional infrastructures in Izmail. 1 functional infrastructures in Tulcea. 1 Joint Monitoring and Alert System approved. 1 Joint Cross-border Investment Euroregion strategies adopted. 1 Operational plans in domain of man-made disasters prevention and containment adopted. 1 Cross-border capacity building training programs with 3 pillars (prevention - intervention – education) implemented. 1 public information and dissemination campaigns of the project at cross-border level organised.

Expected Outputs (EN):

1 Study waste water discharges generated from human locations realised. 30 Specialists in water quality monitoring and the man-made disasters participants to 2 experience exchanges. 1 Agreement on cooperation and support to operationalization of JMAS signed. 1 Functional IT system for JMAS. 400 Participants in workshops. 400 Participants in public debates. 1 Set of questionnaires distributed, collected and processed. 3 Joint training curricula for trainings. 50 Participants in training courses for specialists in the field of intervention man-made disasters (LPA’s, Main State Service Department of Ukraine on Emergency Situations in Odessa region, Specialized Public Authorities, NGO’s) UA - Odessa Region. 50 Participants in training courses for specialists in the field of intervention man-made disasters (LPA’s, Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IES), Specialized Public Authorities, NGO’s) RO – Tulcea County. 20 Participants in training courses for specialists in the field of prevention man-made disasters (Department of Public Health, hospitals, etc.) – UA - Odessa Region. 20 Participants in training courses for specialists in the field of prevention man-made disasters (Department of Public Health, hospitals, Prefecture) – RO – Tulcea County . 30 Participants in training courses for specialists in the field of education - civic culture in the field of man-made disasters (education units, NGO’s) – UA – Odessa Region. 30 Participants in training courses for specialists in the field of education - civic culture in the field of man-made disasters (education units, NGO’s) – RO – Tulcea County. 11.226 km of collection and sewage network rebuilt and modernized. 2 sewage pumping station reconstructed and modernized. 1.114 km of sewage networks rehabilitated. 2 wastewater treatment plants rehabilitated.
