Textile industry is important pillar for economic development within the cross border region. The industry includes more than 120 companies from both sides of the border, employing more than 30% of the labor force. The growing global competition, have put the industry in front of many challenges like the reduction of the labor market, deterioration and existence of unfair competition. The textile industry in the region shows ability for fast response and adaptation on the clients’ needs. And its vitality and agility is considered as big advantages of the cross border region. However, the sector suffers from the lack of young and educated workforce, as one of the biggest constrains for developing competitiveness of the industry. Due to these problems there is a need for joint performance of all industry stakeholders in terms of developing common industry image, through cooperation, training of stakeholders and joint market approach. The project proposes solution of the above-mentioned problems by fostering regional image of industry that is socially and ethically responsible. Working meetings, workshops forums and printed materials will promote the textile industry in the region. The project will also continue the activities on the regional Quality Mark Trusted Balkan Apparel, will support the industry modernization and prepare policy paper Textile Industry 2050, will produce Atlas of the textile industry and induce active collaboration of all stakeholders

Текстилната промишленост е важен стълб за икономическото развитие на трансграничния регион. Индустрията включва над 120 компании от двете страни на границата, в които работят повече от 30% от работната сила. Нарастващата глобална конкуренция поставя индустрията пред много предизвикателства като намаляването на пазара на труда, влошаването и съществуването на нелоялна конкуренция. Текстилната индустрия в региона показва способност за бърза реакция и адаптиране към нуждите на клиентите. А неговата жизненост и гъвкавост се считат за големи предимства на трансграничния регион. Секторът обаче страда от липсата на млада и образована работна сила, като едно от най-големите ограничения за развитие на конкурентоспособността на отрасъла. Поради тези проблеми съществува необходимост от съвместно представяне на всички заинтересовани страни от отрасъла по отношение на развитието на общ имидж на индустрията чрез сътрудничество, обучение на заинтересованите страни и общ пазарен подход. Проектът предлага решение на горепосочените проблеми чрез насърчаване на регионалния имидж на индустрията, която е социално и етично отговорна. Работните срещи, форумите на семинарите и печатни материали ще популяризират текстилната индустрия в региона. Проектът ще продължи и дейностите по регионалното знаме за качество "Trusted Balkan", ще подкрепи модернизацията на индустрията и ще подготви политически документ "Текстилна индустрия 2050", ще произведе Атлас на текстилната индустрия и ще предизвика активно сътрудничество на всички заинтересовани страни

Индустријата вклучува повеќе од 120 компании од двете страни на границата, вработувајќи повеќе од 30% од работната сила. Зголемената глобална конкуренција ја стави индустријата пред многу предизвици, како што се намалување на пазарот на трудот, влошување и постоење на нелојална конкуренција. Текстилната индустрија во регионот ја покажува способноста за брз одговор и адаптација кон потребите на клиентите. И нејзината виталност и агилност се сметаат за големи предности на прекуграничниот регион. Сепак, секторот страда од недостаток на млада и образована работна сила, како едно од најголемите ограничувања за развој на конкурентноста на индустријата. Поради овие проблеми, постои потреба за заеднички перформанси на сите засегнати страни во индустријата во поглед на развивање на заеднички имиџ на индустријата, преку соработка, обука на засегнати страни и пристап на заеднички пазари. Проектот предлага решенија на погоре споменатите проблеми преку поттикнување на регионален имиџ на индустрија која е општествено и етички одговорна. Работните средби, форумите за работилници и печатените материјали ќе ја промовираат текстилната индустрија во регионот. Проектот, исто така, ќе продолжи со активностите на регионалната марка за квалитет Доверливата Балканска облека, ќе ја поддржи модернизацијата на индустријата и ќе подготви политика за текстилната индустрија 2050, ќе произведува Атлас на текстилната индустрија и ќе поттикне активна соработка на сите засегнати страни

Achievements (EN):

The textile industry is one of the pillars of economic development in the cross-border region, but faces common problems applicable to both countries. The project supported solving some of these problems by strengthening the competitiveness of the T&C sector through cooperation, inclusion of the younger generation and an approach to technical modernization. The project has supported the desired image of the textile industry that follows the strict regulations and requirements of the EU in terms of the quality, good working conditions and technologies, social standards and reliable provider of high quality products. The project built strong partnerships based on trust and common understanding. It is a promoter of the potential for growth of the textile industry in the region especially among the young generations. This further strengthened the cooperation among industry stakeholders in the CBC region and provided solid foundation for joint activities. Additional project benefit is work for development of the vibrant modern and market oriented textile sector in the region which is had broad impact on the overall social environment. In the long-term it will alleviate the problem of economic migration from the region and will strongly contribute to the overall well being of the population in the cross-border region on the both sides.
