Le JRC (2013) considère que les sites métallurgiques représentent 13% des 2.5 mil de sites potentiellement contaminés (PCS) en UE. Leurs déchets de production ont été enfouis dans des décharges dans environ 37.2% des cas - 100000 sites ont donc un potentiel de récupération de métaux. Si les déchets récents sont maintenant valorisés, ce n'est pas le cas des anciens matériaux agrégés à haute teneur en métaux ferreux & autres métaux, scories blanches, noires, etc. qui sont considérés comme sources de pollution, coûteuse à gérer/à éliminer. REGENERATIS transforme ce fait en opportunité, car de grands volumes de ressources (métaux, matériaux et terrains) provenant des Anciens Sites et Dépôts Métallurgiques (PMSD) peuvent être récupérés par des techniques d'Urban Mining. Pour ce faire, REGENERATIS s'attaque aux obstacles sectoriels et contextuels en ENO. Le principal défi pour les parties prenantes est le risque environnemental et la rentabilité des processus de récupération axés sur les aspects recyclage en plus des aspects environnementaux (en ENO, les inventaires des sites ne prennent pas en compte les données pertinentes sur le potentiel économique de quantité, qualité et valeur des matériaux). REGENERATIS teste et met en oeuvre sur 3 sites de nouveaux modèles d’affaires pour la récupération des ressources à partir de PMSD (caractérisation géophysique innovante processus de récupération efficients, algorithme d’IA) et d'une Structure d’Inventaire Harmonisé (HIS), afin de démontrer, via son open source 4D Smart Tool 4D (SMARTIX), les bénéfices des opérations . L'impact est garanti par une implication à long terme de tous les partenaires/partenaires associés de REGENERATIS qui vont convaincre les parties prenantes.Les bénéficiaires sont les propriétaires, gestionnaires et opérateurs de PMSD publics et privés ainsi que les entreprises de recyclage des métaux.Dans 10 ans: 60 projets sur PMSD de l’ENO,3 M t de matériaux récupérés,3000 emplois créés.

Gemäß dem JRC (2013) repräsentiert die Metallindustrie 13,1 % der 2,5 Mio. potentiell kontaminierten Standorte (PCS) in der EU. Daher wurde eine signifikante Menge an Abfällen in Deponien abgelagert (37,2 % der PCS). Nach Einschätzung dieser Zahlen sollten mehr als 100.000 Standorte mit einem Potenzial zur Rückgewinnung von Metallen bestehen. Während jüngere metallische Abfälle behandelt werden, sind ältere metallische Abfälle (mit hohem Eisenanteil, Schlacken und andere Metalle) eine Quelle für Umweltverschmutzung. REGENERATIS zielt darauf ab, dieses Problem in eine Gelegenheit umzuwandeln, da Ressourcen (Metalle, Materialien&Land) der früheren metallverarbeitenden Standorte und Ablagerungen (PMSD) durch Urban Mining zurückgewonnen werden können. Um dies in NWE umzusetzen, packt REGENERATIS die sektoriellen und kontextuellen Barrieren an. Das Umweltrisiko und die Profitabilität des Rückgewinnungsprozesses sind Herausforderungen für die Akteure. Momentan befinden sich alle PMSD innerhalb einer auf Umwelteinflüssen basierten Sanierungsstrategie. Selbst in NWE sind PCS Inventarisierungen unzureichend. Es fehlen relevante Daten des ökonomischen Potenzials (Qualität, Quantität & Materialwert). Traditionelle Erkundungsmethoden sind teuer und nicht auf Wertstoffrückgewinnung fokussiert. REGENERATIS liefert hierzu eine evidenzbasierte Lösung, die an 3 Standorten umgesetzt und getestet wurde (einschließlich innovativer Charakterisierung durch Geophysik, Leitfaden, AI-Algorithmen) und beinhaltet eine adaptive Inventarliste der PMSD. Unterstützt wird dies durch ein open source 4D Smart Tool (SMARTIX) und neue Geschäftsmodelle für die Ressourcenrückgewinnung aus PMSD. Eine lange Beteiligung aller REGENERATIS Partner stellt sicher, dass die Akteure überzeugt werden.Begünstigte sind öffentliche & private Eigentümer von PMSD, Manager & Betreiber. Nach 10 Jahren: 60 Projekte zur Ressourcenrückgewinnung auf PMSD in NWE,3 Mio.Tonnen an zurückgewonnenen Wertstoffen & 3000 neuen Jobs.

Description (EN):

According to JRC (2013), metal working industry represents 13 % of the 2,5 m Potential Contaminated Sites (PCS) in the EU. Consequently, a significant amount of their produced waste was deposited in landfills (37,2% of all PCS). Assessing these figures reveals approx.100.000 sites with a recovery potential of metals. While recent metallic waste streams are usually treated, older waste (aggregated material with high ferrous metal content, scrap, other metals, white and black slags and other streams) are considered as a source of pollution, expensive to manage/eliminate. REGENERATIS aims to transform this problem into an opportunity, as large volumes of resources (metals, materials & land) from Past Metallurgical Sites and Deposits (PMSD) can be recovered by urban-mining. In order to implement this in NWE, REGENERATIS tackles the sectoral and contextual barriers. The main challenge for stakeholders is the environmental risk&the profitability of recovery processes. Currently all PMSD are managed within a remediation strategy focused on environmental impact/risk. In NWE region PCS inventories are inadequate, as they lack relevant data on the economic potential (quantity, quality & materials value). Traditional exploration methods are not focused on raw materials recovery. REGENERATIS delivers an evidence-based solution implemented & tested on 3 sites (including innovative characterization by geophysics, innovative recovery processes guidance, artificial intelligence algorithm), promotes an Harmonized Inventory Structure, and supports new business models for resource recovery from PMSD, by using open source 4D Smart Tool (SMARTIX). Impact is guaranteed by long-term involvement of all REGENERATIS partners/ associated partners to convince stakeholders. Beneficiaries are public&private PMSD owners, managers&operators.10 years after: 60 raw materials recovery projects launched on PMSD throughout NWE, 3 m t of valuable materials recovered & 3000 jobs created.

Expected Outputs (EN): There are no common transnational solution&tools that allow relevant stakeholders to launch raw materials recovery driven projects on PMSD; curently 0 t of raw materials are recovered through urban mining from some 100.000 PMSD~1,5 mil ha (EEA).
