Alle hogescholen uit de provincies Zeeland en West-Vlaanderen slaan de handen in elkaar om slimme bruggen te leggen richting de kmo’s en mkb’s in het westelijke deel van de grensregio. Hier zijn reeds voorzichtige stappen in gezet, maar de kloof blijkt tot op heden nog steeds aanzienlijk. De hogescholen kunnen hun toegepast onderzoek nog veel gerichter inzetten om technologische dienstverlening aan te bieden, wat het innovatievermogen van de regio versterkt. Tijdens dit project wordt er gefocust op de ontwikkeling van producten en diensten, de overdracht van technologie, de implementatie van innovatie, het ontwikkelen van netwerken en clusters voor open innovatie en de ondersteuning van technologisch en toegepast onderzoek De hogescholen zullen met ondersteuning van TUA West, OC West en Dockwize een slimme dienstverlening opzetten voor kmo’s/mkb’s over de grenzen heen, enerzijds via product-technische samenwerkingstrajecten, anderzijds door in te zetten op de begeleiding tot valorisatie van de innovaties. De trajecten zullen uiteenlopende onderwerpen kunnen bestrijken, zoals bijvoorbeeld oplossingen om snel bederfbare voedingsmiddelen langer te kunnen bewaren zonder afbreuk te doen aan de smaak, robotisering in de zorg, en het juiste type lampen voor de glastuinbouw. Via grensoverschrijdende expertdagen worden de ervaringen gedeeld en wordt het kennisnetwerk verder verankerd.

All universities of applied sciences from the provinces of Zeeland and West Flanders are joining forces to build smart bridges towards SMEs and SMEs in the western part of the border region. Cautious steps have already been taken in this area, but the gap is still considerable to date. The colleges can use their applied research even more specifically to provide technological services, which strengthens the region’s innovation capacity. This project focuses on product and service development, technology transfer, implementation of innovation, developing networks and clusters for open innovation and supporting technological and applied research With the support of TUA West, OC West and Dockwise, the colleges will set up a smart service for SMEs across borders, on the one hand through product-technical cooperation processes, on the other hand by focusing on the guidance to valorise the innovations. The trajectories will be able to cover a variety of topics, such as solutions to be able to store quickly perishable foods for longer without compromising taste, robotisation in healthcare, and the right type of lamps for greenhouse horticulture. The experience will be shared through cross-border expert days and the knowledge network will be further anchored.
