The Horizontal Project (HP) Green Growth aims to support the Modular Projects (MPs) under the Green Growth thematic of the Interreg MED Programme priority Axis 1 - Innovation. The HP Green Growth will act as a community of projects promoting a sustainable development by fostering innovation through an integrated and territorial based cooperation approach. The HP Green Growth will build upon achievements of the first phase HP SYNGGI and will further maximise the transnational replicability and capitalization potential of results. It will involve the Quadruple helix actors in Mobilisation and Mutual Learning workshops and training and matchmaking sessions to share their best practices in the field of green growth and to promote the effective transfer of concrete results into regional/national policies. The expected outcomes will facilitate the creation of multi-stakeholders shared actions plans to highlight new opportunities and to unlock market potentials. Partners and territories that represent the maximum geographical coverage, including territories from the southern shore of the MED, as well as relevant initiatives, will be engaged on effective political leverage for demand driven and territorial evidence-based policy change on green growth thematic coherent with the EU policy framework. Moreover, the project will closely collaborate with thematic communities and PANORAMED to improve governance and contribute to the Interreg MED Programme visibility and identity.

Le Horizontal Project (HP) Green Growth, vise à soutenir les Modular Projects dans le cadre de la thématique « Green Growth » de l’Axe prioritaire 1 du programme Interreg MED – Innovation. HP Green Growth agira en tant que communauté de projets promouvant un développement durable en favorisant l'innovation grâce à une approche de coopération intégrée et territoriale. Le HP s'appuiera sur les réalisations de la première phase de HP SYNGGI et optimisera davantage la réplicabilité transnationale et le potentiel de capitalisation des résultats. Il impliquera les acteurs de l'hélice quadruple lors d'ateliers de mobilisation et d'apprentissage mutuel ainsi que de sessions de formation et de mise en correspondance afin de partager leurs meilleures pratiques en matière de Green Growth et de promouvoir le transfert effectif de résultats concrets dans les politiques régionales/nationales. Les aboutissements estimés faciliteront la création de plans d’action partagés entre plusieurs parties prenantes afin de mettre en évidence les nouvelles opportunités et de libérer les potentiels du marché. Les partenaires et les territoires qui représentent une couverture géographique maximale, y compris les territoires de la rive sud de la région MED, ainsi que les initiatives pertinentes, seront mobilisés pour obtenir un effet de levier politique efficace en faveur de changements de politiques axés sur la demande et territoriaux sur la croissance verte, en cohérence avec le cadre politique de l'UE.

Achievements (EN):

During the 4th Reporting Period (July-December 2021), the Green Growth project managing the Green Growth Community (GGC) has been busy organising and participating in project events and networking activities as well as carrying out planned project actions. During these six months the project partners have met online in two occasions. In addition, several project partners have led online and in-person stakeholder engagement workshops engaging actors from the quadruple helix to amplify modular projects results as well as to discuss about opportunities to move towards a circular economy targeting local communities. Apart, the GGC achievements were presented internationally at the Balkan Forum and in COP22 in Turkey. GGC also organised a joint series of 2 webinars on green and circular economy practices with the Union for the Mediterranean, with support from FAO, PRIMA and ENI CBC MED. Moreover, The GGC organised a session in the 2021 Circular Week and in the Circle the MED Forum. Finally, the GGC presented its support to regions in their transition to a circular economy in the EU Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform Circular Talk and has contributed to 3 Leadership Group reflection papers. A mainstreaming in-person workshop was carried out in the Region of Aragon to present EMBRACE modular project toolkit to be applied to interested Aragonese SMEs takers. Furthermore, two thematic online webinars were organised, with contributions of the extended Green Growth Modular Projects PLUS insights. During this period, the GGC has held internal meeting with those projects twice. Additionally, online meetings with other horizontal projects were organised to discuss coordinated actions and especially, to contribute to the Interreg Euro-MED Academy development.Regarding published documents, the GGC contributed to a joint position with other communities and prepared a policy reflection paper on how the GGC outcomes contribute to the objectives of the EU Green Deal. The project has also added a new section on the website called the Euro-Mediterranean Policy Hub. Three new articles have also been published on the GGC knowledge platform, the ECESP, and REVOLVE magazine. Finally, 2 videos have been released featuring PEFMED and REINWASTE impact for the EU Regions Week.Finally, a project budget reallocation and project extension until October 2022 was requested and approved. GGC also contributed to the new mapping of results and activities requested by the JS.
