Description (EN):

This project is based on establishment of energy efficient public buildings through implementation of renewable source of energy plants as a example for energy sustainable and environment friendly public policy. Within this project Town of Subotica and Municipality of Satnica Đakovačka want to build solar systems (solar power plants on public institutions -0,45 MW and network of energy efficient public lighting). This will raise awareness about the importance of environment protection and possibilities of usage of through energy efficiency and solar power plants. Project objectives are: - Increasing the energy efficiency of buildings. - Efficient use of available technology for producing of solar energy (instalation of 0.4458 MW solar power plants on 14 public buildings in Satnica Đakovačka and Subotica). - Reducing total energy cost. - CO2 reduction. - Constant power supply in case of power failure. - Promotion of renewable sources of energy among the population. Advantages of solar systems as well as distributed generation of electricity are the following: - Resulting in ecological clean electric energy without environmental pollution. - Produced energy is consumed in the building, and there is no loss of energy in transmission and distribution. - Reliability and safety of supply, and reducing peak loads during the day. - Plant maintenance costs are much lower than maintain centralized production facilities. - Quick and simple installation and commissioning. - Public building will be energy independent. Joint activities in the promotion of renewable energy sources are: organization of thematic public activities about renewable source of energy, promotion of solar energy among students in schools, organization of Energy action plan Conference and Renewable source of energy conference.

Achievements (EN):

The project aimed to establish energy efficient public buildings through the application of power plants to renewable energy sources, as an example of energy sustainable and environmentally friendly public policy. The project enabled solar panels installation on nine public buildings in Subotica: Technical School”Ivan Sarić”, Home for Children with Developmental Disabilities”Kolevka”, Primary and Secondary School”Svetomir Bojanin”, administrative building of the Preschool Institution ”Naša radost”, Open University, New Municipality, Polytechnic School, swimming pool “Prozivka” and Elementary School “Sonja Marinković”. Complete energy rehabilitations of the Primary School “Matko Vuković” and the Primary and Secondary School “Svetomir Bojanin” were completed, traffic promenades on Prozivka and Radijalac received solar benches, and Zoo Palić got the solar tree. Solar power plants have been installed on the buildings owned by Municipality of Satnica Đakovačka: Cultural Center in Satnica Đakovačka and Gašinci settlement, Gašinci Voluntary Fire Brigade Home, “Petar Pan” kindergarten, football club “HOŠK” Gašinci and Hunting House LD “Vepar” Gašinci. Energy-efficient public lighting was built in the Satnica Đakovačka, while the Cultural Center in Gašinci and the Hunting House LD “Vepar” Gašinci have been energetically renovated. Also, two solar benches, three info totems and three solar trees were set up, while the Action Plan for Energy Efficiency of the Municipality of Satnica Đakovačka has been prepared.

Expected Results (EN): Energy consumption by public buidings in the programme area.

Expected Outputs (EN):

Expected results are: - Implementation of more than 445 kw solar power plants; a) on public infrastructure in Subotica (9 solar power plants) and 5 in Satnica Đakovačka (production more than 540.000 kwh of electric energy from renewable source of energy). - Implementation of energy efficient public lighting which will reduce usage of energy produced by fossil fuels. - Update of Action plans of energy efficiency document within all partners. - Promotion activities regarding renewable sources of energy which will include items for promotion of energy efficiency awareness (for that reason partners will implement interesting items and organize workshops and competitions). - Visibility actions: dissemination of project results, visibility and promotion action in order to promote good neighborly relations across the border between local communities and emphasize the EU's values, financial.
