Description (EN):

The cultural and historical heritage of Transcarpathia and Subcarpathia is quite rich. This applies, in particular, to Perechyn with Lemko culture and Lezajsk with Lasowiacy. Both of these cultures have a rich heritage and tourist potential, but unfortunately, they are not well-known at international and national levels, especially among young people. The aim of the project is to improve the tourist attraction through the promotion of the cultural heritage in the form of Lemko and Lasowiacy culture. In order to solve these problems, the Project sets its overall objective to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the mentioned cultures as a prerequisite for tourism development in the border areas of Poland and Ukraine. By achieving its objective the project will contribute to the development of ethnocultural tourism in the border areas, improving the image, attractiveness of small partner communities. In the long-term perspective, it will contribute to the social and economic development of the border areas based on the tourism industry, creating new jobs and integration of the border communities into national, cross-border and international tourist routes. The overall goal will be achieved through producing its main outputs: promotion and networking tools and actions (website, partnership events, promotion activities), new tourism products (historical exhibitions, live traditional crafts clubs), existing products improved (exhibition of the ethnographic museum, staff trained) and youth involved into studying of local culture, traditions and handicrafts through after school programmes. The project outputs will be beneficial for local communities, who will have a chance to study and preserve their culture, for tourists, who will get attractions and experience, for culture and tourism actors, who will use the opportunities ofnetworking, development of common initiatives, promotion.

Expected Results (EN): Increased number of visitors of the natural heritage sites (baseline value - 610; target value - 8 500)
