Description (EN): SUSTECH project aims at developing and implementing innovative nanocomposite material for the organisation of an easily accessible and well-maintained environment, in terms of cost-effective development of urban and rural areas.

Description (FI): SUSTECH hanke pyrkii kehittämään ja toteuttamaan uutta nanokomposiittimateriaalia, jolla mahdollistetaan kaupunki- ja maaseutualueiden helposti saavutettava ja hyvin ylläpidetty ympäristö kustannustehokkaasti.

SUSTECH направлен на разработку и внедрение инновационного нанокомпозитного строительного материала для организации легкодоступной инфраструктуры и эффективного с точки зрения затрат развития городских и сельских районов приграничных территорий.

Achievements (EN):

n the course of the project a new construction technology was created and implemented. For this purpose, 2 experimental stands were developed and manufactured, 8 basic construction elements were tested, 2 constructions test samples for full-scale testing were manufactured and 16 test reports were carried out. In order to assess the technology, the project team made a comparative analysis of mechanical, physical, durability, flammability and aesthetic characteristics with reference material, e.g. wood, metal or plastic used for construction and an economic evaluation report. In the course of the project 20 constructions on 5 new tourist routes were installed in Vepssky Forest, in Russia and 4 constructions were installed in Lappeenranta, Finland. In addition, various sculptures were also manufactured in the course of the project and those located in Vepssky Forest. Project results, especially knowledge about the new material, were disseminated in different ways throughout the project. Emphasis was put on two international seminars organised by the project and several publications in scientific journals.

Achievements (FI):

Hankkeen aikana luotiin ja otettiin käyttöön uusi rakennustekniikka. Hankkeessa kehitettiin ja valmistettiin kaksi koeosastoa, testattiin kahdeksan perusrakenne-elementtiä, valmistettiin kaksi rakennuskoenäytettä täysimittaiseen testaukseen ja tehtiin 16 testiraporttia. Tekniikan arvioimiseksi projektiryhmä teki vertailevan analyysin mekaanisista, fysikaalisista, kestävyys-, syttyvyys- ja esteettisistä ominaisuuksista vertailumateriaalilla kuten rakentamiseen käytetty puu, metalli tai muov. Lisäksi tehtiin taloudellinen arviointiraportti. Hankkeen aikana asennettiin 20 rakennelmaa viidelle uudelle turistireitille Vepsän metsän luonnonpuistoon Venäjällä ja 4 rakennelmaa Lappeenrantaan. Lisäksi hankkeen aikana valmistettiin erilaisia veistoksia, jotka sijaitsevat Vepsän metsässä. Hankkeen tuloksia, erityisesti tietoa uudesta materiaalista, levitettiin eri tavoin koko projektin ajan. Painopisteenä olivat kaksi hankkeen järjestämää kansainvälistä seminaaria ja useat julkaisut tieteellisissä lehdissä.
