Description (EN):

The overall objective of the project is to increase border efficiency and to enhance cross-border cooperation through the development of the supporting infrastructure at border crossing point “Halmeu – Diakove” and strengthening cooperation between the authorities responsible for border management at policy and executive levels. The specific objectives of the project are to increase the operational capacity of border crossing points; increase a transit potential of the region; facilitate trade between Ukraine and the EU; positively impact on security and fight cross-border crime; support tourism development in the region. The main activities are: 1) Development of infrastructure of the border crossing point “ Halmeu – Diakove“; 2) Acquisition of equipment and furniture; 3) Modernization and widening of the road sector to the border crosssing point.

Expected Results (EN):

The expected results are: improvement of infrastructure at border crossing points, in order to fulfil the EU criteria or standards; upgrade of the road and pedestrian component; construction of new customs premises in Halmeu and Diakove; equipment dedicated to the customs and border control delivered, installed and fully operational at the level of Halmeu Customs Office, Diakove Customs Office, Mukacheve BG detachment.
