Description (EN): The MerlinCV project will contribute to promoting the cross-border tourism region. In order to exploit the untapped potential of the cultural, natural and gastronomic heritage in the Italo-Slovenian cross-border area, the project will develop innovative, integrated and thematic tourism products focussing on sustainable tourism. Taking into account the environmental challenges, the project will offer relevant, European level solutions for the development of sustainable and thematic tourism; to this end, a large number of activities will aim to create new tourism products, training stakeholders with a particular focus on food and wine and typical local products. The project activities will be planned on the basis of a study or with the help of good practice in similar environments. A web and mobile application will be created to serve as a database of the local tourist offer and to assist in planning tourism itineraries.
Several pilot projects will be conducted with the aim of increasing the capacity of local tourism operators:
workshops, networks, local supply communities, personalised itineraries, festivals and stories in tourism.
Read more Description (IT): Il progetto MerlinCV contribuirà ad aumentare la riconoscibilità della regione turistica transfrontaliera. Con l’intento di valorizzare il potenziale ancora non sfruttato del patrimonio culturale, naturale e gastronomico nell’area transfrontaliera italo-slovena saranno sviluppati prodotti turistici innovativi, integrati, tematici e incentrati sul turismo sostenibile. Tenendo conto delle sfide ambientali il progetto offrirà soluzioni rilevanti a livello europeo per lo sviluppo di un turismo sostenibile e tematico; a tale fine saranno organizzate numerose attività volte a creare nuovi prodotti turistici e alla formazione delle parti interessate con una particolare attenzione verso l’enogastronomia e i prodotti tipici. Le attività del progetto saranno concepite in base ad uno studio ovvero con l’aiuto delle buone prassi in ambienti simili. Così sarà creata un’applicazione web e mobile che fungerà da database dell’offerta turistica locale e come aiuto per la pianificazione degli itinerari turistici. Con lo scopo di aumentare la capacità degli operatori turistici locali saranno realizzati diversi progetti pilota: workshop, network, Comunità locale d’offerta, itinerari personalizzati, festival e storie nel turismo.
Read more Description (SL): Čezmejni projekt MerlinCV bo prispeval k večji prepoznavnosti čezmejne turistične regije. Na podlagi valorizacije še neizkoriščenih potencialov kulturne in naravne dediščine ter gastronomije se bodo pripravili inovativni, integrirani, tematski in v trajnostni turizem usmerjeni turistični produkti na slovensko-italijanskem čezmejnem območju. Na izzive okolja bo projekt ponudil evropsko relevantne rešitve v smeri razvoja trajnostnega tematskega turizma; v ta namen bodo organizirane številne aktivnosti na področju oblikovanja novih turističnih produktov ter izobraževanja relevantnih deležnikov. Projektne aktivnosti bodo oblikovane na podlagi študije oz. prenosa dobrih praks iz primerljivih okolij. Na tej podlagi bo oblikovana spletna in mobilna aplikacija, ki bo služila kot baza podatkov lokalne turistične ponudbe in pripomoček za načrtovanje turističnih itinerarijev. Za večanje sposobnosti lokalnih turističnih ponudnikov ponuditi tovrstne vsebine bo izvedenih več pilotnih projektov: izobraževalne delavnice, mreža, t. i. »Skupnost lokalne ponudbe«, individualizirani itinerariji in zgodbe v turizmu.
Read more Achievements (EN): The overall objective of the project MerlinCV: Multisensorial experiences linked to the castles and villas of the cross-border region for excellence in tourism, co-financed by the Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia cooperation programme, was to increase the tourist appeal and visibility of the cross-border region through integrated sustainable models that promote the creation of innovative and sustainable tourism products in the Slovenian-Italian cross-border area. The valorisation of cultural heritage such as castles, mansions and villas, as well as of outstanding ecotypes of planned landscapes, was thus carried out in a sustainable way, with the aim of providing quality and diverse information in a user-friendly way.
MERLINCV PROJECT PLATFORM: MOBILE AND WEB LINK BETWEEN TOURISTS AND CULTURAL & NATURAL HERITAGE:
The web platform (https://merlincv.zrs-kp.si/sl) will serve as a cultural and natural heritage database linked with mansions and palaces, local tourism products and services and a tool for planning tourist itineraries. It allows intuitive use of expert information on available options of a selected location, as all points are shown on the map and can be searched by the user to create an itinerary according to his or her points of interest. In addition to the location marking on the online map, the user can get interesting information about the location, photographs, 3D
presentations and 3D reconstructions of buildings, as well as short video content with the possibility of updating the information on the fly, all in one place. This will bring modern users closer to the places themselves and thus attract them to visit in a sustainable way. The platform can be used to download information on the routes of the cycling paths that have been newly created or reconstructed in the scope of the project. The site also provides information on other cycling paths and on digitised cultural and natural heritage products, both in form of digital content such as 3D presentations of individual complexes of mansion houses and forts, and other innovative tourist products for the presentation of cultural heritage.
The platform combines, in a digitised format, the existing practices from the field and expert descriptions of cultural and related natural heritage, thus enhancing the value of the heritage and presenting it to a wider audience; the guidelines of marketing strategy, developed by the project partner Aries, will be used.

Read more Expected Outputs (EN): One of the results of the project is to create innovative marketing approaches that exploit the potential of the most "photogenic and narratable" integrated sites, which will be used to present new thematic itineraries - approaches that, in the era of social networks, strongly affect the choices of visitors when planning their trips. The marketing approaches will be tested and adjusted through concrete pilot activities (the web application and the activities proposed in WP 3.2.). In the framework of WP 3.2, 10 training workshops will be held to increase the skills of tourism operators, which will help them to increase their capacity to improve tourism products and group them into thematic interest areas in the field of sustainable tourism. At the same time, they will offer concrete solutions and the basis for a more environmentally friendly way to operate tourism services. Two integrated tourism products will be created under WP 3.2. The CLO (PP6) will launch an effective CLO model and a promoter/animator who will act as a start-up company; together with the web application these results represent integrated products that bring together a combination of various products and services, designed to meet the needs of tourists at the time of their visit, at the same time contributing to increasing the quality and diversification of the tourist offer of a destination, while also increasing its visibility. At the same time, the promoter - Merlin (at CLO) and the application promote an individualized tourist experience. Two other pilot projects will be dedicated to the use of stories to create the innovative Escape Garden product and the itinerant festival that will connect the lesser-known elements of cultural heritage and tourism with the products of local operators.
Read more Expected Outputs (IT): Uno dei risultati del progetto è la creazione di approcci innovativi di marketing che sfruttano le potenzialità dei siti integrati più “fotogenici e narrabili” e che verranno usati per la presentazione dei nuovi itinerari tematici – approcci che, nell’era della rivoluzione dei social networks, incidono fortemente sulle scelte dei visitatori nella pianificazione dei loro viaggi. Gli approcci di marketing verranno verificati e aggiustati attraverso attività pilota concrete (l’applicazione web e le attività proposte nel WP 3.2. Nell’ambito del WP 3.2 verranno svolti 10 workshop di formazione per l’accrescimento delle competenze degli operatori turistici che favoriranno l’aumento delle loro capacità di miglioramento dei prodotti turistici e la loro aggregazione in gruppi tematici e di interesse nel campo del turismo sostenibile. Al contempo offriranno soluzioni concrete e le basi per un funzionamento più ecocompatibile di tali servizi turistici. Nell’ambito del WP 3.2 verranno creati due prodotti turistici integrati. La CLO (PP6) avvierà un modello CLO efficace e un promotore/animatore che opererà come un’impresa start-up; assieme all’applicazione web questi risultati rappresentano prodotti integrati che riuniscono in sé una combinazione di vari prodotti e servizi, progettati per soddisfare le esigenze dei turisti al momento della loro visita, contribuendo al contempo all’aumento della qualità e della diversificazione dell’offerta turistica di una destinazione, aumentando anche la sua visibilità. Allo stesso tempo, il promotore – Merlin (presso CLO) e l’applicazione favoriscono un’esperienza turistica individualizzata. Altri due progetti pilota saranno dedicati all’uso dei racconti per la realizzazione del prodotto innovativo Escape Garden ed il festival itinerante che collegherà gli elementi meno noti del patrimonio culturale e turistico con i prodotti degli operatori locali.
Read more Expected Outputs (SL): Rezultat projekta je tudi ustvarjanje inovativnih marketinških pristopov, ki izkoriščajo potenciale „fotogeničnih“ in pripovednih integriranih destinacij, s katerimi bomo predstavljali nove tematske itinerarije in ki se v dobi „revolucije socialnih omrežij“ kaže kot eden od temeljnih razlogov pri odločitvi obiskovalcev za obisk destinacij. Marketinški pristopi bodo testirani in popravljeni s konkretnimi pilotnimi aktivnostmi (spletna aplikacija in pilotne aktivnosti v WP 3.2). V okviru WP 3. 2. bo izvedenih 10 izobraževalnih delavnic za dvig kompetenc turističnih ponudnikov, ki bodo povečale sposobnosti turističnih ponudnikov za nadgrajevanje svojih turističnih produktov ter njihovo združevanje v tematske in interesne skupine trajnostnega turizma, obenem pa bodo nudile konkretne rešitve in vedenje o temeljih za bolj okolju prijazno delovanje omenjenih turističnih storitev. V okviru WP 3.2. bosta razvita dva integrirana turistična proizvoda. CLO (PP6) bo vzpostavila delujoč model CLO in enega animatorja, ki bo deloval kot start up podjetje; skupaj s posebno spletno aplikacijo (vsi partnerji) kot integrirana produkta predstavljata kombinacijo več izdelkov in storitev, ki so namenjene na eni strani zadovoljitvi potreb turistov ob obisku turistične destinacije, hkrati pa prispevata k dvigu kakovosti in večji pestrosti ponudbe turistične destinacije ter k njeni večji prepoznavnosti. Obenem animator – Merlin (pri CLO) in aplikacija omogočata posebno individualizirano turistično izkušnjo. Še 2 pilotna projekta bosta namenjena uporabi zgodb v realizaciji inovativnega produkta Escape Garden in potujoči festival, ki bosta povezala manj znane elemente kulturne in turistične dediščine s produkcijo lokalnih ponudnikov.
