The northern Adriatic marine and coastal habitats support an enormous animal and plant biodiversity represented by the biogenic-geogenic outcrops of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto, dead corallites of Cladocora caespitosa on the Slovenian side and numerous costal ZSC-ZPS. The results of the Trecorala project (Interreg Ita-Slo 2007-13) allowed evaluation of the ecological status of the geo-biogenic formations. They had been recognized as Sites of Community Interest due to the presence of priority habitats such as Coralligenous and rodolite and maerl funds. In Slovenia, the formations in Cladocora caespitosa are located in the marine protected areas of the Natural Monument Punta Grossa and of the Natural Park of Strunjan. TRETAMARA aims to capitalize on previous knowledge, to enhance the best management practices, leading to the drafting of a document supporting the drafting of missing management plans of the coastal and marine SIC areas, and their harmonization at the High Adriatic level, also proposing national and transnational guidelines for integrated management marine-coastal habitats with high ecological value also through targeted actions with a high content innovative.

Nel nord Adriatico sono presenti habitat marini e litorali che favoriscono e supportano l’enorme biodiversità animale e vegetale, rappresentati dagli affioramenti biogenici-geogenici del Friuli Venezia Giulia e Veneto, ai coralliti morti di Cladocora caespitosa del versante sloveno, alle numerose ZSC-ZPS costiere-litorali. I risultati del progetto Trecorala (Interreg Ita-Slo 2007-13) ha consentito di valutare lo stato ecologico delle formazioni geo-biogeniche che sono state riconosciute Siti di Interesse Comunitario per la presenza di habitat prioritari come il Coralligeno e i fondi a rodoliti e maerl. In Slovenia, le formazioni a Cladocora caespitosa si trovano inserite nelle aree marine protette Monumento Naturale Punta Grossa e Parco Naturale di Strugnano. TRETAMARA si propone di capitalizzare le conoscenze pregresse, di valorizzare le migliori pratiche di gestione, portando alla stesura di un documento che supporti, laddove manchi, la stesura dei Piani di gestione delle aree SIC costiere e marine, contribuendo all’armonizzazione dei piani di Gestione a livello di Alto Adriatico, proponendo inoltre linee guida nazionali e transnazionali per una gestione integrata degli habitat marino-costieri ad elevato valore ecologico anche attraverso Azioni mirate ad alto contenuto innovativo.

V severnem Jadranu so prisotni morski in obalni habitati, ki podpirajo ogromno živalsko in rastlinsko biotsko raznovrstnost, ki je značilna za biogene-geogene formacije Furlanije Julijske krajine in Benečije, formacije iz mrtvih koralitov sredozemske kamene korale (Cladocora caespitosa) na slovenski strani in številne obalne ZSC-ZPS. Rezultati projekta Trecorala (Interreg Ita-Slo 2007-13) so omogočili ovrednotenje ekološkega stanja geo-biogenih formacij, ki so bile priznane kot območja, ki so v interesu skupnosti (OIS) zaradi prisotnosti prednostnih habitatov, kot so koraligen in morsko dno z rodoliti in maerl. V Sloveniji so formacije sredozemske kamene korale prisotne ob mejah naravnega spomenika Debeli rtič in naravnega rezervata Strunjan. Namen projekta TRETAMARA je izkoristiti predhodno znanje in ovrednotiti najboljše prakse upravljanja, kar vodi k pripravi dokumenta, ki bi podpiral, kjer manjka, pripravo načrtov upravljanja obalnih in morskih OIS. S tem bo projekt prispeval k uskladitvi načrtov upravljanja na ravni severnega Jadrana, s pripravo predlogov nacionalnih in transnacionalnih smernic za celostno upravljanje morskih obalnih habitatov z visoko ekološko vrednostjo in s ciljno usmerjenimi ukrepi z visoko inovativno vsebino.

Achievements (EN):

Overall Objective of the Project: TRETAMARA contributed to drafting common guidelines at the transnational level for an integrated management plan for marine habitats of high ecological value, in perfect synergy with the overall program objective of promoting sustainability and transboundary governance, as well as with project actions to protect and enhance natural resources and strengthen integrated ecosystem management for sustainable land development. Project summary: In the northern Adriatic there are marine and littoral habitats that host an enormous biodiversity of animals and plants, such as the biogenic-geogenic outcrops of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto, the dead corallites of Cladocora caespitosa on the Slovenian side and the numerous coastal SAC -SPAs. The results of the Trecorala project (Interreg Ita-Slo 2007-13) allowed an assessment of the ecological status of the geo-biogenic formations recognized as Sites of Community Interest due to the presence of priority habitats such as corallites, rhodoliths and marl beds. In Slovenia, Cladocora caespitosa formations are found in the marine protected areas Punta Grossa Natural Monument and Strunjan Natural Park. TRETAMARA leveraged existing knowledge by promoting best management practices and facilitating the harmonization of management plans at the Upper Adriatic level through the development of national and transnational guidelines for the integrated management of marine coastal habitats of high ecological value. Main results: TRETAMARA results strengthen ecosystem management by contributing to the specific outcomes of the program through improved conservation status of habitats (3.2.A) and species (3.2.B); the project defined tools for the assessment and promotion of ecosystem services. The activity identified and collected existing material on habitats and management plans. It took into account the results of all projects in the program area and the results of actions to develop management plans. Tretamara carried out transboundary biodiversity pilot actions that were replicated in individual partner areas. The actions concerned coastal marine habitats of high ecological value such as the Trezze and Tegnue biogeogenic formations, the detrital seabed of Piran Bay characterized by the presence of Cladocora caespitosa, and coastal areas with grasslands of Cymodocea nodosa and Zostera marina associated with the presence of Pinna nobilis. Key restoration actions for the main plant and animal species studied were also developed, and a document with national and transnational guidelines for the integrated management of marineand coastal habitats of high ecological value was drafted. Expected Results (EN):

The main project objective is to promote cross-border cooperation in order to guarantee a good state of conservation of protected species linked to green infrastructure in the cross-border IT-SI area. The project intends to bring to the joint development of green infrastructures in favor of biodiversity and citizens by integrating the concept of services for the ecosystem and the participation of interested parties in integrated management.

TRETAMARA si propone di contribuire a linee guida, condivise a livello transnazionale, per un piano di gestione integrata degli habitat marini ad elevato valore ecologico in perfetta sinergia con l’obiettivo complessivo del programma che è quello di promuovere la sostenibilità e la governance transfrontaliera e con le azioni di progetto tutelare e promuovere le risorse naturali e rafforzare la gestione integrata degli ecosistemi per uno sviluppo sostenibile del territorio.

Expected Results (SL):

Cilj projekta TRETAMARA je oblikovati smernice, glede katerih obstaja soglasje na nadnacionalni ravni, za celostno upravljanje morskih habitatov izrednega ekološkega pomena v popolni sinergiji s splošnim ciljem programa, Spodbujanje čezmejne trajnosti in upravljanja, in s projektnimi ukrepi za zaščito in spodbujanje naravnih virov ter okrepitev upravljanja ekosistemov za trajnostni razvoj ozemlja.

Expected Outputs (EN):

Results of TRETAMARA will help strengthen ecosystem management by improving the conservation of the status of habitats and species contributing to Programme indicators (3.2.A) and (3.2.B). They also will help to define tools for ecosystem services assessment and promotion. Foreseen activities foresee the identification and collection of existing material on habitats and of eventual management plans. Results from all projects implemented in the programme area will be taken into consideration as well as the actions already implemented for the preparation of management plans. Data will be published on the project website and made available as OpenData through WMS and WFS services to partners and public. In addition, cross-border pilot actions supporting biodiversity will be activated and replicated in the areas of each Partner. Actions will be implemented on marine-coastal habitats of high ecological value such as biogeogenic formations of the detrital bottom in the Piran bay, in the neighboring areas of discovery of Cladocora caespitosa and in the coastal areas of Cymodocea nodosa and Zostera marina associated with the presence of Pinna nobilis. According to the output indicator 3.2.3 and involvement of stakeholders and awareness raising on the high ecological value of marine and coastal environments, the categorization and number of participants in events and in educational and dissemination workshops will be detected.

Expected Outputs (IT):

I risultati di TRETAMARA contribuiranno a rafforzare la gestione degli ecosistemi contribuendo all’ottenimento dei risultati specifici del Programma attraverso il miglioramento di conservazione dello status degli habitat (3.2.A) e delle specie (3.2.B) e contribuendo anche a definire strumenti per la valutazione e la promozione dei servizi ecosistemici. L’attività prevede l’individuazione e raccolta del materiale esistente sugli habitat e gli eventuali piani di gestione. Verranno presi in considerazione i risultati provenienti da tutti i progetti dell’area di programma e dai risultati delle azioni per la redazione dei piani di gestione. I dati verranno pubblicati sul sito del progetto e resi disponibili come OpenData attraverso servizi WMS e WFS ai partner e a chiunque ne faccia richiesta. Saranno inoltre attivate Azioni pilota transfrontaliere a sostegno della biodiversità che saranno riproposte/replicate nelle aree di competenza dei singoli Partner. Le azioni agiranno su superfici di habitat cofinanziati delle aree marino-costiere ad elevato valore ecologico come le formazioni biogeogeniche, del fondo detritico della baia di Pirano con le limitrofe aree di rinvenimento di Cladocora caespitosa e le aree costiere a Prateria di Cymodocea nodosa e Zostera marina associate alla presenza di Pinna nobilis. Un indicatore dei risultati di TRETAMARA relativi al coinvolgimento dei portatori d’interesse e alla implementazione della consapevolezza sociale dell’elevato valore ecologico degli ambienti marini e costieri potrà essere la categorizzazione ed il numero dei partecipanti agli eventi partecipativi nonché a quelli educativi e divulgativi in accordo con l’indicatore di output 3.2.3.

Rezultati projekta TRETAMARA bodo prispevali h krepitvi upravljanja ekosistemov in pripomogli k doseganju posebnih rezultatov programa z izboljšanim ohranjanjem stanja habitatov (3.2.A) in vrst (3.2.B) ter doprinosom k opredelitvi instrumentov za ocenjevanje in promocijo ekosistemskih storitev. V sklopu aktivnosti bomo identificirali in zbirali obstoječe gradivo o habitatov in morebitnih načrtih upravljanja. Poleg tega bomo uvrščali v geografsko bazo podatkov tudi podatke o poglabljanju znanj. Podatke bomo objavili na spletni stran projekta po načelu »odprtih podatkov« preko storitev WMS in WFS. Izvajale se bodo čezmejne pilotne aktivnosti za podporo biotski raznovrstnosti, ki se bodo ponovile na območjih, za katere so pristojni posamezni partnerji. Aktivnosti se bodo izvajale na habitatih morskoobalnih območij z visoko ekološko vrednostjo, kot so biogeogene formacije, detritno dno Piranskega zaliva s sosednjimi območji sredozemske kamene korale (Cladocora caespitosa), in morski travniki cvetnic (Cymodocea nodosa in Zostera marina), s katerimi je povezana prisotnost leščurja (Pinna nobilis). En kazalnik neposrednih činkov projekta TRETAMARA z ozirom na čitev deležnikov in na konkretno čanje družbe o izredni ekološki vrednosti neobalnega morskega okolja, bo morebiti kategorizacija in število udeležencev na skupnih oziroma izobraževalnih dogodkih in in dogodkih za razširjanje informacij v skladu s kazalnikom neposrednih činkov 3.2.3.
