In the project region, research institutes and companies are involved in image acquisition and processing and apply this knowledge in practice. The expertise of the organizations associated in the region is unique in many ways. This is highlighted by scientific publications, as well as by specific tools that achieve the best parameters and contain new technical solutions and their combinations. In the South Bohemian Region, at the University of South Bohemia, the Institute for Complex Systems of the FFPW USB deals with the analysis of primary signals from digital cameras for microscopy and macroscopic imaging techniques. In the Vysočina region, the Telč Center is engaged in the development of X-ray microtomographs. In Upper Austria the laboratories of the Universities of Applied Sciences Linz and Wels deal with all methods of high-resolution optical microscopy and nanolithography as well as the practical applications of microtomography. Partners of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and Danube University Krems also have extensive experience with the requirements of technology companies. These partners have joined a consortium that represents a new quality in research and creates the ability to put knowledge into practice. Normal users, even corporate users, rarely receive information about how the image recording and storage method used maintains or fundamentally changes the basic image structure. In order to get a perfect picture, the perception of the human eye has to be betrayed. This is only possible if the original sensor signal from the camera is distorted. This significantly reduces the competitiveness of image data users as they cannot create breakthrough algorithmic solutions for downstream technologies such as automatic detection, measurement and similar applications. These are the inputs for artificial intelligence and thus form the basis for the development of robotic devices in the entire spectrum from production to system and building control, medical applications to automated assistants, in short the entire Industry 4.0. Small and medium-sized technology firms in the region, although generally of high quality, cannot provide the capacity for their own research and therefore cannot participate in global competitions. The aim of the project is to create a consortium from which the companies in the region draw the knowledge of regional research organizations and thus achieve competitiveness in order to be able to lead in certain areas in global competition.

In der Projektregion sind Forschungsinstitute und Unternehmen an der Bilderfassung und -verarbeitung beteiligt und wenden dieses Wissen in der Praxis an. Das Fachwissen der in der Region zusammengeschlossenen Organisationen ist in vielerlei Hinsicht einzigartig. Dies wird durch wissenschaftliche Veröffentlichungen sowie durch spezifische Instrumente hervorgehoben, die die besten Parameter erreichen und neue technische Lösungen und deren Kombinationen enthalten. In der Südböhmischen Region, an der Universität Südböhmen beschäftigt sich das Institut für Komplexe Systeme des FFPW USB mit der Analyse von Primärsignalen digitaler Kameras für die Mikroskopie und für makroskopische Bildgebungstechniken. In der Region Vysočina beschäftigt sich das Telč-Zentrum mit der Entwicklung von Röntgenmikrotomographen. In OÖ beschäftigen sich die Laboratorien der FH Linz und Wels mit allen Methoden der hochauflösenden optischen Mikroskopie und Nanolithographie sowie den praktischen Anwendungen der Mikrotomographie. Partner der FH OÖ und DUK Krems verfügen zudem über umfassende Erfahrung mit den Anforderungen von Technologieunternehmen. Diese Partner haben sich einem Konsortium angeschlossen, das insgesamt eine neue Qualität in der Forschung darstellt und die Fähigkeit schafft, Wissen in die Praxis umzusetzen. Normale Benutzer, selbst aus Unternehmen, erhalten selten Informationen darüber, wie die verwendete Bildaufzeichnungs- und Speichermethode die grundlegende Bildstruktur beibehält oder grundlegend ändert. Um ein perfektes Bild zu erhalten, muss die Wahrnehmung des menschlichen Auges betrogen werden. Dies ist nur möglich, wenn das ursprüngliche Sensorsignal der Kamera verzerrt wird. Dies verringert die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der Bilddatenbenutzer erheblich, da sie keine durchbruchorientierten algorithmischen Lösungen für nachgelagerte Technologien wie automatische Erkennung, Messung und ähnliche Anwendungen schaffen können. Dies sind die Inputs für künstliche Intelligenz und bilden somit die Grundlage für die Entwicklung von Robotergeräten im gesamten Spektrum von der Produktion über die Anlagen- und Gebäudesteuerung, medizinische Anwendungen bis hin zu automatisierten Assistenten, kurz die gesamte Industrie 4.0. Kleine und mittlere Technologiefirmen in der Region können, obwohl sie im Allgemeinen von hoher Qualität sind, keine Kapazitäten für ihre eigene Forschung bereitstellen und können daher nicht an globalen Wettbewerben teilnehmen. Ziel des Projektes ist es, ein Konsortium zu schaffen, aus dem die Unternehmen der Region das Wissen regionaler Forschungsorganisationen beziehen und so Wettbewerbsfähigkeit erreichen, um in bestimmten Bereichen auch im globalen Wettbewerb führen zu können.

V regionu projektu působí výzkumné ústavy a společnosti, které se zabývají výzkumem snímání a zpracování obrazu a tyto poznatky aplikují v praxi. Expertíza organizací sdružených v regionu je v mnoha směrech unikátní, což lze doložit jak vědeckými publikacemi, tak i konkrétními unikátními přístroji, které dosahují nejlepších parametrů a obsahují nová technická řešení a jejich kombinace. V Jihočeském kraji se Ústav komplexních systémů FROV JU zabývá analýzou primárního signálu z digitálních kamer pro mikroskopii a pro makroskopsické zobrazovací techniky. V kraji Vysočina se Centrum Telč zabývá vývojem rentgenového mikrotomografu. V Regionu Oberösterreich se laboratoře na FH Linz a Wels zabývají průřezově všemi metodami vysoce rozlišené optické mikroskopie a nanolitografie a praktickými aplikacemi mikrotomografie. Partneři na FH OÖ a DUK Krems mají rozsáhlé zkušenosti s požadavky technologických firem. Tito partneři se sdružili do konsorcia, které jako celek vytváří novou kvalitu jak ve výzkumu, tak ve schopnosti převést znalosti do praxe. Běžní uživatelé, a to i z oblasti firem, dostávají jen málokdy informaci nakolik použitá metoda snímání a ukládání obrazu zachová nebo zásadně změní základní strukturu obrazu. Abychom získali perfektní obraz, musí být vnímání lidského oka podváděno. To je možné jen zkreslením původního signálu senzoru kamery. Tím je výrazně omezena konkurenceschopnost uživatelů obrazových dat, protože ze zkreslených dat nejsou schopni tvořit průlomová algoritmická řešení v navazujících technologiích jako je automatické rozpoznávání, měření a podobné aplikace. Ty jsou přitom vstupem pro umělou inteligenci a tím tvoří základ pro vývoj robotizovaných zařízení v celém rozsahu od výroby, přes řízení provozu a ostrahu budov, medicínské aplikace až po asistenční automaty, stručně řečeno celý průmysl 4.0. Malé a střední technologické firmy v regionu, přestože jsou obecně velmi kvalitní, nejsou schopny vyčlenit kapacity na vlastní výzkum, a proto nemohou konkurovat v globálních soutěžích. Cílem projektu je vytvoření konsorcia, z nějž firmy z regionu budou čerpat ze znalosti regionálních výzkumných organizací a tím dosáhnout konkurenceschopnosti a ve specifických oblastech i náskoku v globální konkurenci.

Expected Outputs (DE):

1) Das Konsortium als Ganzes verfügt über ein einzigartiges technisches Wissen und eine Kompetenz, um es an kleine und mittlere Unternehmen in der Region zu übertragen. Sie sind in der Regel nicht in der Lage, ihre eigenen Forschungs- und Innovationsrichtungen beizubehalten, und verlassen sich daher auf die Rolle von Subunternehmern, die vorgegebene Ergebnisse liefern. Sobald sie mit dem ImageHeadstart-Konsortium verbunden sind, erwerben sie zusätzliches Wissen und Partner, mit denen sie ihre eigenen Forschungen durchführen können. Dies erhöht ihre Innovationsleistung. 2) Die Mitglieder des Konsortiums erhalten in Absprache Ideen und Wissen aus der Praxis, um Geräte, Forschungsrichtungen und im Rahmen der studentischen Arbeit die Ausbildung in der Region weiterzuentwickeln. Sowohl die einschlägige Forschung als auch die Ausbildung bedürftiger Fachkräfte werden die Fähigkeit der regionalen Wirtschaft, eigene Forschung, Entwicklung und Innovation zu betreiben, weiter stärken.

Expected Outputs (CS):

1) Konsorcium jako celek má unikátní technické znalosti i veškeré kompetence pro jejich přenos malým a středním firmám v regionu. Ty typicky nemají možnost udržovat vlastní výzkumné a inovační směry, čímž jsou odkázány na roli subdodavatelů předem určených výsledků. Po napojení na konsorcium ImageHeadstart získají doplňkové znalosti a partnery s nimiž budou moci zavést vlastní výzkum a budou vznikat jejich inovační produkty. Tím se zvýší jejich inovační výkonnost. 2) Členové konsorcia v rámci konzultací získají podněty a znalosti z praxe podle nichž se bude dále rozvíjet vybavení, směry výzkumu a v rámci studentských prací i vzdělávání v regionu. Jak relevantní výzkum, tak výchova potřebných odborníků, dále posílí schopnost regionální ekonomiky ve vlastním výzkumu, vývoji a zavádění inovací.
