The tourism industry observes an increase of international competition among destinations. There is a need for adaption to prospectively secure the economic power and living quality within the programme region. At the German and Danish site there are similar challenges. Outside of the touristic hotspots investments into tourism infrastructure are missing, individual structures and thought patterns obstruct innovative business developments and the potentials of sustainable solutions. In order to win the competition for tourists, collaboration within the programme region is required and cross-bordering active-destinations are recommended to be developed in terms of sustainable nature and culture tourism. Through cooperation in and between all dimensions of the tourism system as well as within the region, synergies are defined, mutual unique selling propositions are consolidated, and the foundation of a unique cross-bordering tourism development and tourism marketing is created. By means of all activities in TOUR-BO we aim to increase the tourism turnover in the field of sustainable nature and cultural heritage tourism with a special focus on active tourism. This is achieved through cross-border knowledge transfer, empowernment oftourism stakeholders and development and marketing of expercience-oriented tourism products. During the project we closer examine touristic infrastructure development, food tourism as well as culture and nature educational tourism. German-Danish knowledge bases are created. These are made accessible for an extensive network of public and private stakeholders. We support tourism-related SMEs within the programme region by means of implementing several internal marketing activities. We are eager to carry out a number of industry events for SMEs, public agencies, educational establishments and food industry players that aim to transfer knowledge and to foster networks. Ultimately, TOUR-BO creates sellable innovative tourism products and services for an experience-oriented target group that looks for active tourism products such as food routes and innovative touristic educational opportunities at Adult Education Centres as well as at cultural and natural heritage sites. Herby we act as a "change agent" for cooperation, mutual understanding and common action.

Die Tourismusbranche beobachtet eine Zunahme des internationalen Wettbewerbs der Destinationen. Es bestehen Anpassungsbedarfe, um auch zukünftig die Wirtschaftskraft und Lebensqualität in der Programmregion zu sichern. Die Herausforderungen und Gegebenheiten ähneln sich auf deutscher & dänischer Seite sehr. Außerhalb der touristischen Hot Spots bleiben Investitionen in die touristische Infrastruktur aus, kleinteilige Strukturen & Denkmuster behindern innovative Geschäftsentwicklungen und die Potentiale nachhaltiger Lösungen. Um den Wettbewerb um Besucher zu gewinnen, bedarf es daher eines gemeinsamen Handelns in der Programmregion und der Weiterentwicklung der grenzüberschreitenden Aktiv-Destinationen i.S. des nachhaltigen Natur- & Kulturtourismus. Durch Kooperationen in und zwischen allen Ebenen des Tourismussystems sowie innerhalb der Region werden Synergien gehoben, die gemeinsamen Alleinstellungsmerkmale gestärkt und die Grundlagen für eine einzigartige grenzüberschreitende Tourismusentwicklung und -vermarktung gelegt. Mit allen Aktivitäten in TOUR-BO zielen wir gemeinsam darauf ab, eine Steigerung des touristischen Umsatzes im Bereich des nachhaltigen Natur- & Kulturerbe-Tourismus mit dem Schwerpunkt des Aktivtourismus zu erwirken. Dies erreichen wir durch grenzüberschreitenden Wissenstransfer, Ertüchtigung touristischer Akteure sowie Entwicklung und Vermarktung erlebnisbasierter Tourismusprodukte. Thematisch erschließen wir die touristische Infrastrukturentwicklung, den Nahrungsmitteltourismus sowie den Kultur- & Naturbildungstourismus. Im Ergebnis schaffen wir deutsch-dänische Wissensgrundlagen. Diese machen wir einem breit aufgestellten Netzwerk aus öffentlichen & privaten Akteuren verfügbar. Wir stärken die touristischen KMU in der Programmregion mittels unterschiedlicher Binnenmarketing-Aktivitäten und führen eine Vielzahl an Fachveranstaltungen für KMU, öffentliche Träger, Bildungsstätten und Nahrungsmittelakteure mit dem Ziel des Wissensaustausches und der Netzwerkbildung durch. Im Ergebnis schafft TOUR-BO auf dieser Basis verkäufliche innovative touristische Produkte für die erlebnisorientierte aktivtouristische Zielgruppe. Dazu gehören thematische Nahrungsmittelrouten und neuartige touristische Bildungsangebote an Heimvolkshochschulen sowie Kultur- & Naturerbestätten. Dabei agieren wir in der Rolles eines „Change Agent“ für Kooperation, wechselseitiges Verständnis und gemeinsames Handeln.

Turismebranchen iagttager en øget international konkurrence mellem destinationerne. Det er nødvendigt at tilpasse udformningen for også i fremtiden at sikre den økonomiske styrke og livskvaliteten i programregionen. Både udfordringerne og situation ligner hinanden meget på dansk og tysk side. Udenfor de turistmæssige hot spots udebliver investeringer i den turistmæssige infrastruktur, smålige strukturer og tænkevaner hæmmer innovative forretningsudviklinger. På mange steder er potentialerne for bæredygtige løsninger. For at vinde i konkurrencen om gæster, er det derfor nødvendigt, at man agerer fælles i programregionen og at videreudvikle de grænseoverskridende aktiv-destinationer som bæredygtig natur- & kulturturisme. Gennem samarbejder på tværs af alle niveauer i turismesystemet og indenfor regionen skabes synergier, de fælles unique-selling-points styrkes og der lægges et fundament for en enestående grænseoverskridende turismeudvikling – og markedsføring. Med alle aktiviteter i TOUR-BO sigter vi fælles på at øge omsætningen i turismen indenfor den bæredygtige natur- og kulturarv-turisme med særlig fokus på aktivturisme. Dette mål opnår vi gennem grænseoverskridende vidensdeling, empowernment af turismeaktører samt udviklingen og markedsføringen af oplevelsesbaserede turismeprodukter. Vi arbejder med turistmæssig infrastrukturudvikling, fødevareturisme samt kultur- & naturformidlingsturisme. Som resultat skaber vi dansk-tyske vidensfundamenter. Dem stiller vi til rådighed for et bredt netværk af offentlige og private aktører. Vi styrker SMVer i turismen i programregionen ved hjælp af forskellige aktiviteter for den lokale markedsføring og gennemfører mange faglige arrangementer for SMVer, offentlige institutioner, dannelsessteder og fødevareaktører med det formål at udveksle viden og etablere netværk. Som resultat skaber TOUR-BO på dette fundament innovative turistmæssige produkter, som kan sælges til den oplevelsesorienterede målgruppe aktivturister. Dertil hører tematiske fødevareruter og nye turistmæssige uddannelsestilbud på folkehøjskoler samt kultur- & naturarvsteder. Derved agerer vi i rollen som en „change agent“ for samarbejde, gensidig forståelse og fælles handling.

Achievements (EN):

The project is increasingly affacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, it has been able to acchieve noteworthy progress in all work packages, for instance in the creation of best-practice catalogues or the conduction of a workshop-excursion to food actors which made the project more known among relevant stakeholders and will help establishing the food routes and by that increase the food tourism in the region.
