Die Region Seeland und Schleswig-Holstein zeichnen sich durch einen hohen Anteil erneuerbarer Energien und ein strategisches Engagement zur Steigerung dieses Anteils aus. Darüber hinaus arbeiten Dänemark und Deutschland eng zusammen, um eine ausgewogene Netzbalance im Stromnetz des Programmgebiets zu gewährleisten. Die enge Verknüpfung des strategischen Engagements mit dem Energiesystem macht eine grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit bei der Wissensaufbau und Innovation zum Nutzen von Unternehmen und Verbrauchern, offensichtlich und notwendig. Das Projekt setzt die Vorteile der grenzüberschreitenden Zusammenarbeit in den Fokus. Spezifische Showcases im Bereich Energiespeicherung-und Flexibilität werden getestet und liefern neues Wissen und Einblicke in potenzielle Geschäftsfälle. Darüber hinaus werden Partner von beiden Seiten der Grenze zusammengebracht, um Synergien nutzbar zu machen, und die Bausteine für ein europäisches Living Lab für innovative und wirtschaftlich nachhaltige Lösungen in der Programmregion zu liefern. Der Ansatz des Projekts beruht darauf, grundlegendes Wissen unter Arbeitspaket (AP) 3 mit grenzüberschreitendem Expertenwissen von SCS Hohmeyer, Stadtwerke Flensburg und Energinet.dk aufzubauen. Die Ergebnisse von AP3 werden im Anschluss als Referenz und Benchmark im Rahmen von AP4 in spezifischen Showcases / Demonstratoren für Energieflexibilität und-speicherung genutzt . Basierend auf diesen Ergebnissen wird das Projekt Hindernisse für die Förderung der Energiewende identifizieren, Empfehlungen aussprechen und eine begrenzte Anzahl von Business Cases im Rahmen von AP5 entwickeln. Um den vollen Nutzen der grenzüberschreitenden Zusammenarbeit sicherzustellen, wird ein Arbeitspaket zur Kommunikation (AP2) grenzüberschreitende Netzwerke, die Verbreitung von Wissen, und die Nutzung der Ergebnisse von Akteuren im Programmgebiet in deren Arbeit und zukünftigen Projekten unterstützen.

Region Sjælland og Slesvig-Holsten er begge kendetegnet ved høje andele af vedvarende energi og strategiske forpligtigelser om at øge andelen. Derudover har Danmark et tæt samarbejde som skal sikre elforsyning (netbalancen) i programområdet. Den tætte kobling mellem de strategiske forpligtigelser og energisystemet gør det oplagt – endog nødvendigt – hvor vidensopbygning og innovation fremmes til fordel for virksomheder og forbrugere. Projektet sætter gevinsterne ved grænseoverskridende samarbejde i fokus. Konkrete cases inden for energilagring og fleksibilitet vil blive afprøvet og bringe ny viden og indsigt om mulige nye forretningsmodeller. Derudover vil partnere på tværs af grænsen blive bragt sammen, som kan løfte resultaterne videre og skabe byggestenene for et europæisk living lab i programområdet for innovative og kommercielle bæredygtige løsninger. Projektets tilgang vil tage afsæt i at opbygge grundlæggende viden i arbejdspakke (AP) 3, gennem danske og tyske eksperter bestående af SCS Hohmeyer, Stadtwerke Flensburg og Energinet.dk. Efterfølgende afprøves konkrete løsninger i cases inden for energilagring og fleksibilitet i AP4, hvor resultaterne fra AP3 bruges som reference og bench mark. Ud fra resultaterne vil projektet identificere barrierer for fremme af den grønne energiomstilling og komme med anbefalinger og udvikle et begrænset antal business cases under AP5. For at sikre samtlige gevinster ved grænseoverskridende samarbejde, vil arbejdspakken om kommunikation (AP2) understøtte grænseoverskridende netværk, vidensspredning og forankring af resultater blandt aktører i programområdet og i fremtidige projekter.

Description (EN):

Region Zealand and Schleswig-Holstein are both characterized by high shares of renewable energy and strategic commitment to increase the share. Moreover, Denmark and Germany have a close cooperation to ensure net balance in the program area. The close linkage between the strategic commitment and the energy system makes cross border cooperation obvious - even necessary - where knowledge building and innovation are promoted at the benefit of companies and consumers. The project brings the benefits of cross border cooperation in to focus. Specific cases within energy storage and flexibility will be tested and provide new knowledge and insight on potential business cases. More over cross border partners are brought together who can carry the results on to next level and providing the building blocks for a European living lab for innovative and commercial sustainable solutions. The project’s approach will build up a fundamental knowledge in work package (WP) 3, with cross border expert knowledge by SCS Hohmeyer, Stadtwerke Flensburg and Energinet.dk. Following specific cases/testbeds on energy flexibility and storage will be conducted under WP4 where the results from WP3 will be used as reference and bench marks. Based on these results the project will identify barriers to promote green energy transition and provide with recommendations and futher develop a limited number of business cases under WP5. To ensure the full benefits of cross border cooperation, a work package on communication (WP2), will support cross border networks, dissemination of knowledge and exploitation of the findings among actors in the program area and in their work and future projects.

Achievements (EN):

Several results were achieved in period 2: - Technical status quo report on the German-Danish energy system was published - Kickoff webinar was planned and successfully held (shortly after reporting period ended) with more than 90 registered and more than 50 participants - A number of communication activities have exposed the project to its target groups (see report) - The steering group was constituted and held a first meeting. This was supposed to be a physical study trip incl. kickoff conference on Lolland, but had to be cancelled due to the worsening Corona situation in October. The conference was then replanned as a webinar. - A further network partner has joined the project (Dansk Erhverv) - WP3 and 4 have really started up the technical work, which can also be seen in the increased spending. Spending is still lacking behind the budget, which is largely due to the Corona pandemic, making it more difficult to start up internal processes at partners and effectively stopping all physical cross-border cooperation. As the Corona pandemic has started at the same time as the project has started, this has made building relationships in a new partnership very difficult, as online meetings cannot replace physical events that build trust and commitment. Still there has been progress in cases, even tough there also have been more practical and organisational/administrative hurdles in the case implementation (see report on WP4), which have cost time. Project management is focused on increasing activity levels further and is in contact with project partners about this. Moreover, this will also be discussed with the project steering group. We expect to send a change request in spring 2021, in order to adapt the project to the situation.
