The diamond has exceptional mechanical properties (hardness, elasticity) as well as a friction behaviour close to the Teflon. Diamond deposition is therefore the ideal candidate to improve the performance of micromechanical parts such as watch movements or micro-tools. Current diamond deposition techniques are done at too high temperatures to process steels. The neoDiam project provides an innovative solution for low temperature diamond deposition on steels.The first objective of the project is to develop the low-temperature diamond deposition on metal substrates such as steels and surface preparation and intermediate layer solutions to improve the adhesion of the diamond layer.A second objective is to develop an industrial diamond deposition reactor that will allow the development of diamond deposition processes and subsequently offer coating service solutions with a production capacity compatible with the demands of our customers.

Le diamant possède des propriétés mécaniques exceptionnelles (dureté, élasticité) ainsi qu’un comportement en frottement proche du Téflon. Le dépôt de diamant est donc le candidat idéal pour améliorer les performances de pièces micromécaniques comme les mouvements horlogers ou les micro-outils. Les techniques actuelles de dépôt de diamant se font à une température trop élevée pour traiter les aciers. Le projet neoDiam apporte une solution innovante pour le dépôt de diamant à basse température sur aciers.Le premier objectif du projet est de développer le dépôt de diamant à basse température sur des substrats métalliques tels que les aciers et des solutions de préparation de surface et de couches intermédiaires pour améliorer l’adhérence de la couche de diamant.Un deuxième objectif est de développer un réacteur de dépôt de diamant industriel qui permettra d’une part le développement des procédés de dépôt de diamant et par la suite offrir des solutions de services coating avec une capacité de production compatible avec les demandes de nos clients.
