ViVu project’s objective is to create the principles of sustainable tourism for SMEs to develop their services and local population to enjoy recreation activities. The project will build joint cross-border pilot for sustainable tourism in the River Vuoksi area with the necessary infrastructure in the route destinations.

ViVu hankkeen päätavoite on luoda kestävän kehityksen mukaiset periaatteet, joita huomioiden pk-sektori voi toteuttaa turismiin liittyviä palveluja ja joista on hyötyä vapaa-ajanviettoon liittyvissä aktiviteeteissa. Hanke rakentaa raja-alueyhteistyöpilotin Vuoksi joen ympäristöön ja toteuttaa reittikohteisiin tarvittavan infrastruktuurin.

Целью проекта ViVu является разработка принципов устойчивого туризма, на основе которых МиСП смогут предлагать новые услуги для отдыха на природе. В рамках проекта будет реализован совместный пилотный проект по созданию и благоустройству экологических маршрутов озерно-речной системы Вуокса с необходимой инфраструктурой по обе стороны границы.

Achievements (EN):

The river Vuoksi area has great, but partly untapped opportunities to become an international destination for sustainable tourism. In the Visit Vuoksi project, the accessibility and visibility of the Vuoksi as a destination for sustainable tourism was developed in different ways: the project created new walking, cycling and water routes and developed a diving site and built boat docks. The project created the river Vuoksi -principles of sustainable tourism and recreational use of the river environment. Also the principles of organizing a sustainable event were created for the use of SME´s and NGO´s. The principles were piloted in the summer and winter events. A short, experiential virtual presentation was made of the river Vuoksi’s story. The project increases visibility of the river Vuoksi as a climate-friendly destination for sustainable tourism. The project improves the quality of the environment and enables a new kind of entrepreneurship by developing the Vuoksi destinations and events.

Expected Results (EN): Main activities include forming the river Vuoksi-valley tourism network and route and constructing necessary infrastructure. The project will create web, print and 3D virtual production materials and events around the pilot and plans the marketing and promotion of the final product.

Expected Results (FI):

Keskeisimpinä toimenpiteinä hankkeessa muodostetaan Vuoksi-laakson turismiverkosto ja -reitistö sekä toteutetaan sille tarvittava infrastruktuuri. Hankkeen aikana kehitetään ja tuotetaan materiaalia internetiin ja painotuotteiksi sekä 3D virtuaaliympäristö. Lisäksi järjestetään tapahtumia sekä laaditaan markkinointia varten käytettävä promootiokonsepti.

Expected Results (RU):

Работа по проекту включает в себя формирование туристической сети и маршрутов в долине реки Вуоксы, включая создание необходимой инфраструктуры. В рамках проекта будут разработаны онлайн-материалы, печатная продукция, а также виртуальная трехмерная среда, проведены мероприятия, направленные на продвижение маршрутов, создана концепция маркетинга и рекламы конечного продукта.
