TIS is based on an elaborate design, which will materialise only gradually, but towards permanent implementation. The first essential step in integrating TIS into the vector mosquito suppression strategy is to generate new knowledge and tools based on applied research. This regional cooperation project aims to engage the countries of the OI region directly with the aim of promoting the sharing of expertise and the development of scientific and technical skills for the integration of the Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) into strategies for the control of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus vector vectors.

La TIS est basée sur une conception élaborée, qui ne se matérialisera que progressivement, mais vers une mise en œuvre permanente. La première étape essentielle de l’intégration de la TIS dans la stratégie de suppression des moustiques vecteurs est de générer de nouvelles connaissances et de nouveaux outils sur la base de recherche appliquée. Le présent projet de coopération régionale vise à engager directement les pays de la région OI dans le but de promouvoir le partage d'expertise et le développement des compétences scientifiques et techniques pour l'intégration de la Technique de l'Insecte Stérile (TIS) dans les stratégies de lutte contre les vecteurs d’arboviroses Aedes aegypti et Aedes albopictus.
