Description (EN):

The project aims at improving of 4,224 km of the approach road to BCP “Brunishevo”(regional road "Lavry - border with Latvia") to make border crossing more efficient and comfortable for vehicles, as well as turn it into a comfort living and working place for local inhabitants. Within the framework of the previous Programme reconstruction of BCP “Brunishevo”(Russia) was implemented. But unfortunately, after the reconstruction it is not possible to increase the throughput capacity here, because there are no roads of adequate quality on the RU side applicable for increasing transport flow. It is expected that the bilateral cooperation ties of the Latvian-Russian state control institutions (customs boards, border guards, and sanitary inspection authorities) will be strengthened by experience exchange activities, established institution-to-institution contacts along the part of the RU-LV border line in the Pskov region in Russia and Vidzeme and Latgale regions in Latvia. During the information campaign Information "customer corners" on BCPs (RU side) will be upgraded. Information campaign will increase the awareness of persons willing to cross RU-LV border, vehicle drivers on legal and practical issues how to transport personal belongings, goods, money, pets, etc.

Expected Results (EN):

The baseline value of the indicator is 48 220 persons crossing the border crossing point (on average in 2015 and 2016 (average of latest 2 data years)), the target value of the indicator is 50631 persons (5% increase) for 2023. The result indicators will be seen in statistics with the annual number of persons crossing the border through BCP “Brunishevo”.

Expected Outputs (EN): The throughput capacity of 1 border-crossing point is increased.
